Saw the second Hobbit film last night. Very bland indeed.

IMDB gives it 8.4 though, so I must be wrong.

The reviews I saw all said it was better than the first one

Hmm, I disagree. I wasn't a massive fan of the first one but it was entertaining enough and kept me interested, but this one just seemed to lack substance. I can't really place a finger on it - it was like watered-down spirits at your local high street hell hole. All the elements are there but it lacks a punch.

Also, the cgi was pretty whack in places imo. If you're going to rely so heavily on it then get it right!

I don't trust any ratings after about 2011 nowadays, the ratio of good film critics and just straight up morons only voting 1 or 10 seems to have swayed heavily since then. Everything new is so exaggerated in either direction.

I reckon Peter Jackson just made thirty thousand fake imdb accounts and gave it ten out of ten!

Was boss.

I put it on and forgot I'd watched it not that long ago. Was even better with repeat viewing. :4:

The first one was fucking boring, only thing that saved it was that it looked stunning in 3d in bits.

Style over substance yet again. Ah never mind, I went to see it with my family and I don't think i've done that since the late 90s, so..

Anchorman 2, was funny.. bit long for a comedy and the fight was a little ridiculous. Steve Carell was hilarious.

So i've watched this again because some ppl said here i've looked at the movie at the wrong way. And watching this movie with an other view was definitely beneficial. There's still some things that were wrong (like showing and saying things for a thousand times), but it's the methodic (the editing of the movie) and the melancholic that made the film more or less good.

7.5/10

Before watching this movie i knew the franchise only by name and because it's got a dozen references in other movies and series. So my knowledge of the Star Trek universum is zero. But even with that in my mind, the movie did a good job with explaining it without getting lost in dull dialogue (not that dialogue is boring). The only thing that was a bit 'wrong' was the whole time-space continuum that made the movie at a sudden point very confusing. But that didn't lasted long.

7/10

Spring Breakers better than the new Star Trek? What the hell...
