The majority of what's being talked about has already been explored several times. Sinestepper, ehbrums, back me up here...
anyways, I'll weigh in on a couple things that have been mentioned that are kinda ridiculous....First djredi2step already threw objectivity out when he said he doesn't understand metal. Now it's about what is considered 'danceable' and whether or not that's an important element to the music you listen to...silly kids..
Metal has earned it's place in music. I or anyone else should never have to justify why we listen to what we do. Shut up and go open your DAW.
..I swear if I had admin privileges, I'd drop the lock thread hammer every day..

Isn't the bold EXACTLY what dubstep is though??
no. thats maybe what heavy metal influenced dubstep is. most dubstep that people listen to on this forum isn't.
Again i'm not disagreeing with what your saying about metal. I just think i enjoy different aspects of music to you. rather than the musical talent, production technique required, i appreciate the end product. probably why i prefer listening to something like this that doesn't follow a formula may have rough production
than a clinically produced tune with perfect music theory.

I don't produce so I dont have a DAW.
Obviously the dance-ability of a track is very important when you are making music that is meant to be played in a club for people to danced to otherwise DJs are never going to play it.
This is a music forum for the discussion of music. Music is a creative art not a science so remaining objective whilst discussing it is pointless.
I'm not saying metal doesn't have a place. I'm just explaining why I don't like it and someone else explained why they do. we had a discussion about music
Stop catching feelings. if you don't want to read it then don't
