Post by decklyn » Sat Sep 29, 2007 11:38 pm

Got a divorce, and suddenly my studio explodes. Just picked up some new monitors.

oooh they look nice, is there much of a difference between the sound of the mkII's and the original 624/824's?

Vert similar. New tweeter material (titanium) still sounds a touch brash. I've never really spent time working with HR824s before, so I can't comment too much here. I've read some comparisons which say that they're extremely similar. Slightly smoother in the mids.

They come with a testing certificate that shows thier frequency response test at the factory - they're crazy flat.

Yeah they weren't cheap (well relative to higher end adams, dynaudio and genelec, they were cheap) $1600 for the pair plus tax.
