Join us for the first session of 2014 down at the intimate setting known as Beat Bar, Leeds. For this event, we've brought together two innovators of Drum & Bass; Klute & Nymfo!

Klute [Commercial Suicide]

Back in 2001, Tom Withers aka Klute founded the highly influential record label Commerical Suicide. Since then Klute has released no less than six albums for the label, including his latest offering 'The Draft' arriving late 2013. Unconventional, yet dance floor ready tracks have been somewhat a trademark of Klute's, he's never afraid to draw on his background as a Punk musician when creating the wide range of tempos and moods present in his ever expanding back catalogue of records.
Since the album's release, Klute has turned his focus to further developing his Commercial Suicide label into the accomplished and hugely influential innovative force it has become.
"To me drum & bass is a form of music which has always been out on a limb and the tracks that have shocked me are those that have expanded on what went before them, whether that's people using the technology in ways that you're not supposed to or just turning around sounds in different ways. Nymfo [Commercial Suicide / Metalheadz / Samurai Music]

A true DJ at heart with many years experience under his belt, Dutch DJ / producer Nymfo has established himself as a strong presence in the Drum and Bass scene. Standout singles for Commercial Suicide, Metalheadz & Samurai Music have made his name synonymous with tough, techno-tinged dancefloor drum & bass; adding to a reputation built at his own nights Red Zone and Breek in Eindhoven. Recently, he pushed his sound and profile further with his debut album 'Characters' on Commercial Suicide.
Twice voted ‘Best Dutch DJ’ in the past few years, Amsterdam-based Nymfo may be no newcomer to drum & bass but has recently established himself amongst its most promising production talents. With a versatile and infectious style, his tracks have already won support across the scene from the likes of Goldie, Friction, Marky, Fabio, Hype, Black Sun Empire, Teebee, Doc Scott, S.P.Y, Commix and more.

Hanover [Tribe 12 / Hanover Music]

It's not often that a we come across such dedicated & talented collaborative groups in Leeds, and this one have never disappointed to date! Hanover will be warming up the proceedings with a diverse set of down-tempo & bass infused tracks which seamlessly melts into Drum & Bass.
"If anyone was to say to me that the fine art of eclecticism was dead, all I would have to do was point them towards Leeds, a city so rich in variety that it can be easy to miss a gem. All originally from the south of England now studying in Leeds, Hanover, the 6 man production collective are one such outfit. Drawing influences from a variety of genres, they produce a range of styles and BPMS touching on instrumental Hip Hop, Dubstep, and Drum and Bass, to name a few. With releases on Mindtech, Tribe12 and forthcoming on Charge records, it's fair to say this is not the last we will hear from this promising young group of musicians"
