Yeah, I got busted and felt stupid. I was getting more into trying my hands at DJing.. But yeah freight bombs are where it's at and there are plenty of people over the age of 30 still doing it...pretty die hard but I respect that... Looking from the outside in, you could say that all of us DJs need to grow up as well. A bunch of grown ass men obsessed with an art form. It's just another dream to chase, a hobby if you will. Same shit, Except it involves possibly getting in trouble with the law which I suppose makes it immature? Thats what makes it all the more exciting though.
i'm not talking about the artistry i'm talking about the illegality of it. that shit is just dumb to do if youre over 18.
Can you provide some reasoning please.
i'm just being an asshole for the sake of it. in all honesty i could give a fuck what anyone does or posts here on the other side of the world. :)

i know its not fresh if the art is legal, but if catch this one kid tagging my building again i will fuck them up and you will all hear about it. :D
pics pls!

Firstly i agree that graffiti can be art. that being said i have a couple of questions regarding the images in this thread.

1. if art is defined (loosely) as the use of images or sound to transmite ideas or emotions to observers or listeners, then what is the message being sent in the images in this thread? is it political? social? what are you trying to say about society? or the human condition?

2. How do feel your 'art' is contributing to the betterment of society or to mankind as a whole. in short. how does it make the world a better palce for the majority.

3. lastly. do you see any negative aspects of 'tagging'?

i would love to see what your reasoning is.
I think this a good question. Graff can be taken many different ways... I do agree that its better to bomb advertisement and billboards...because to me that is the real ugliness or clutter. Lets look at the real situation..we are constantly being bombarded by advertisements...so bombing those is pretty much a big fuck you to the system as a whole. "no I dont want to buy your shit so fuck off"...yknow. That is one point of view I guess...

Dont get me wrong this isnt the only reason people write...I think its personal thing...everyone has their individual reason.

Since when have this many people had an opinion on graffiti?

It's stupid to be talking about it on a message board anyways.

Im not surprised so many people have a negative opinion on it. There is shitty stuff out there..infact 90% of it is some little punk with a marker that doesnt know anything about graff. But you have people explaining to you their views and people are still shit talking with nothing to back up their comments....

How is it stupid talking about it on a message board...thats what they are for, no? People talk about doing drugs on this message board...and post illegal parties on here...plus pirate radio etc etc...there are so many "illegal" things being discussed.... Since when did the underground music community turn into narrow minded, conservative, tight assed, white collared yuppy douche bags.

Ok, I take back the stupid part, but I agree 100% on with backing the stuff up. I'm gonna get flics real soon.. but I don't think the underground electronic music scene is becoming yuppie.

I dont think its becoming yuppy at all...thats why I said "since when did"...
The reason I said that, is because graffiti has become a touchy subject lately on a few diff msg boards I read. I was assuming that those who read those boards too would understand what I meant.
Anyways please do post pics!!!

My sense of humour must be well off the mark today, I don't see how that's amusing. Either that or comments on 'graff' are notoriously unfunny.

Either way, I think I agree with Bob Crunkhouse's sentiments. I love seeing well thought out and original graffiti (i.e 'art')....I don't, however, like seeing people's own front doors and garages being tagged (see original post). Actually, I'd say that's a tnuc's game.
Bye. I've changed my password and left the boards...Too much time on here and not enough work being done.

i find a lot the stuff up here didn't really make the walls (or general area) look better or convey any message or even show off advanced skill; they just kinda selfish self-gratification. i like graffiti, stickers, stencils, scratches, whatever, but not with just someones 'name' hurriedly sprayed their. i dunno, maybe i just see too much shit put up for negative reasons than for positive ones.

on a note though, showguns was talking about the legal side, here in Holland, construction sites let people tag up all the plywood walls around the site and under some of the bridges and walls outside of town you can tag/paint them up without fear of prosecution. Without worry of being caught, some amazing art emerges.

Are you a writer ?
"Most amusing Dubstep comment??" tread is mostly amusing for people really enjoying dubstep.

So I tried to show that this is a very common way for people not involved with graffiti to comment it . . .
To me that would sound something like "I like dubstep, just not the bass"
bombing is the backbone of graffiti . . .

AND YES, like all other cultures, 95% is WAC, bad quality, bad placement,
does that mean ther isn´t space enough for it ?
How will we get the 5% decent works if we never allow some crap (and i´m not talking about legality)

Sounds like most people in this tread like stickers and this thing they call "street art",
but allot of these things don´t actually make thinks look better ?
There´s crap everywhere, and some people like it, some don´t.
The weird part is how some types of crap newer being questioned !

I'm with ya now (regarding the thread thing). Apologies for the misunderstanding.

No, I'm not a writer...If only 5% of it is decent then I'd say there's a problem given that the 95% amounts to an eyesore on someone elses property that will cost them money to remove.

Not being rude here but my input on this thread is through...busy at work and not really an expert, or interested in becoming one, on the subject.
