Guys, I may have to give up on deadlifting. I abrased my thumb rubbing against my pants and it started bleeding :( :(

Sorry to hear that, hand in your testicles at the front desk on your way out.

Yeah, thankfully my gym is so small and has so few DBs that if someone doesn't put them back, it's obvious then and there. We have (kg);

1-10 (excluding 7s for some reason)
11
12
14
16
19
21
25
31

And that's it.

Ohhh the people who stand there talking vex me so bad. Think I mentioned them before, but I've had to start doing bench press first just so they don't get the rack. Hate doing BP as my first exercise, but if we don't get it, they'll be on it for about 40 mins - an hour.

Even if you ask them to hurry up, there's about 6 of them there, all taking it in turn to do sets, fucking joke.

Don't mind a bit of chat when you're swapping over, but if you're gonna have a full blown conversation about your mate's girlfriend, then step away from the machines.

One of them does make me laugh though, guy is about 7 stone soaking wet, acts like a badman on the punchbags, shouting, kicking them muay thai style, then he comes to the preacher curl, asking his mate to spot him with the 5kg weights either side. :lol:

My workouts are generally one or two compounds to start off, then supersets, then isolation work after that.

Though I've always wondered if the whole "start with the biggest group then work down in size" for muscle work was broscience or not? :?

Agreed, but I hate starting with bench, always feel like chest is the last part of me to "loosen up".

Could always start with some active warmup doing some pressups before bench;

10 x normal
10 x triangle
10 x wide

To get things moving before jumping into the BP.

Yeah, now I'm having to jack the rack as soon as I get there, I do a few wide grip pulls up on it, and a few really light weight benches.

I've dediced on getting PlateMates to increase dumbells by smaller increments. Fuck 2 kilo jumps on isolation work.

Edit: after more reading. Nope. My gym's dumbells are rubbercoated. Shit.

Gym had some resolutioners in it last night, three lads all early 20s doing low weight (~5-7kg) high rep DB shoulder presses and lateral raises. One of them had bought the biggest towel I've ever seen with him.

From my experience of holidays in Spain, if there's three Spanish lads together, then one of them is morbidly obese, one is about 6 foot 4 and has a blond mohawk, and the other one has a fishing rod.

Recently, as my deads have been getting heavier, I have to take at least a 5 minute break from doing them and rest/support my back.

It is NOT pain. I have zero discomfort. In fact, my whole back is feeling much better than since I started doing them again in September. Just an "empty lowerback I need to recharge in an inclined bench for a few minutes before I go on with the next exercise.

Anyone else experience this?
