A friend of mine got given 200 copies of a Marty Pellow single during his Fresher's Week. They ended up forming a mirrored ceiling in his bedroom.Pedro Sánchez wrote:I was a given a wetwetwet lp as a prize though.

New Morning feels like Dylan in the wilderness to me... some great ideas, but there's not the follow through into actually great songs that he had before and a bit after (Blood on the Tracks*). I haven't listened to it very often though... maybe I should refresh myself.RKM wrote:out of interest did you like new morning? half is my favourite dylan tracks and the other half is fucking shit
*a mate of mine converted me to Blood on the Tracks through relentless discussion of Idiot Wind... I think I put it above Times They Are A Changin' now. Anyone that's ever broken up with a girl should listen to Don't Think Twice and Idiot Wind at least once during the process.

I was 17 at the time of Roskilde '07 and didn't give a crap about Dylan back then. I don't even remember who I saw instead but today I definitely regret not going to see him.
Most of my memory of the festival that year is just a rain-filled blur tbh.
As for the topic, I think either this:

or

3-4 years ago or something like that.

Actually, I have to make a correction. It was '06. We went because it was a fallow year for Glastonbury, but yeah... Roskilde and Glastonbury are pretty much the biggest and oldest major festivals in Europe. It's pretty well known!hubb wrote:Hey Magma how come you went to roskilde? Is it wellknown ?

You're right, Dylan (and you it seems) was there in '06! Hubb, how many times have you been? Just asking cause I thought it was pretty obvious that it's a major festival, I always meet tons of people from all around the world there (although, to be fair, a big percentage is Scandinavian).
Re: What was the first vinyl you ever bought?
Cool.
I think U2 broke through there but other than that I didn't know. I used to go with my parents when I was really young. Back when there were over 100.000 people.

Maybe it's time for a revisit then?
There's still over 100.000 people tho, the number I heard a couple years ago was 130.000 including volunteers/bands/roadies/etc.

Re: What was the first vinyl you ever bought?
Yep, it's still pretty huge. I really loved Roskilde when I went... might end up going again this year as it's looking like we're missing out on Glastonbury for the first time in fucking ever.

Last time I went there. It was like afterskiing or something, huge screens with adds and weird smoke bans eventhough it was outside.
+ I was at that pearl jam show, so the whole thing is a bit akward now.
Greatest moment was actually pearl jam aswell but like ten years before. Went from seeing Gorky Park to seeing Pearl jam and then Nirvana in one afternoon (if I remember correctly).
