Fuckin stoked! This could be almost as exciting for fans of the 303 and the 808 as the Juno D was for fans of the Juno 106!

If the category is best drum machine no contest, Elektron FTW. I dont know any real people that use the Tempest as a drum machine. Just from what I've read about the Tempest sequencer (which is nothing to sneeze at), Elektron's workflow, the p-locks, the layers... : ) The Elektron will cost as much as the Tempest Im sure, which means I'll have to commit crimes to own on : (nowaysj wrote:Seems like it will be competing with the tempest. What do y'all think of that matchup?

You can get a mint condition Elektron Machinedrum for under 400 quid I'd say.
I'd think about reissue of the 909, but knowing Roland they will fuck this up.
Also, there's clones of all these classic boxes that are better than the originals.

I haven't owned a full on Jomox drum machine, but I had an M.Base11 for a while. Close enough IMO. But not really worth owning if you've got some Gold Baby samples or something else with grit. Unless you just wanna say I do my own kicks with an analog box...nowaysj wrote:In your esteem'ed opinions what is the best 808 clone?
