I found a Beneath track that was really good, and played it as part of my techno set.

I first found Beneath through the 130 ting, but when I posted the track I was promptly told it wasn't techno, or infact 130. I was told it "was more UK Funky tbh".

i couldn't comprehend it and noped the fuck out of that whole thing. i prefer techno m8

Is this the new swamp 81?
This thread is pointless for the most part.

edit; also man playing 130 in a techno set how dare you!!!

no it wasnt the music i distanced myself from. its the scene/following. my point is a lot of it is so techno (or garage, or whatever) yet "those 130 guys" want to like, elevate their circle jerk above and make it clear THIS IS THEIR OWN THING, ITS NOT TECHNO M8

it's like when dusky put out a few techno tracks and the house guys were like "this is dark deep house" - its like nah man, thats techno if ive ever heard it was techno. stop thinking your scene is unique - its fukken techno.

some of the music is dope. some of it is not my thing. it's been like that forever.

I've crashed audacity trying to make this future dog tune. Got up to 25,000 bpm before it crashes out. Still, I'll perservere.

Any mixes I've heard from him tend to be his own stuff, and when I saw him out, it was his own stuff mixed with dubstep.

why do they have to make all their vocals pitched down it just sounds daft
doesnt bother me as much in that track since they pretty much disappear after it drops, also they're edited to be all reverby and ethereal which i think must subconsciously remind me of good dubstep lol

I'm pretty sure i remember reading an interview with zomby not long ago and him saying that we've used up all the flavours but how we mix those flavours into new formats is how this scene moves on (or something along those lines), I think it's completely possible that everything has been explored in terms of innovative structure and sound.
