thats the tune im on about by beneath. admittedly the flip i wouldnt call techno (texers) but that track (imho) is techno as fuk. dont forget some purist minimal techno is just drum hits and no synth or anything, so that track having a few extra snares off the 2nd and 4th don't make it suddenly uk funky. shits techno. its even got a straight 44 kick. tbh the difference between house/techno/funky/whatever else 4x4 is the vibe. this just ticks the techno vibe. brutal, stomping relentless rhythm with big bold synthesis to a 4 too the floor kick. techno.

dunno, maybe i'm out of the scene too much, if I was going to pin that track in any specific sub-genre, the very, very last I'd stick it in was UKFunky. I didn't even think to associate it with UKFunky until someone mentioned it on a thread lol

It's the bassline

listen to it properly/loudly and you easily hear it's the sub that drives the groove, not the 4x4 drums so much

After the discussion about the future of music, allow me to present to you the future of ORIGINAL electronic music, Future Dog.

2562 definitely had techno inspirations, that's really obvious, especially the dubby side of techno, but just labelling beneath techno cos its 4x4 and dark is lazy (and ridiculous)

(second part wasnt directed @ u btw skimpers, i agree with u about 2562)
