one bass Alias

im not actually talkin about that one bass he used in all his tunes tho here, talkin about dem 808s he uses. sickest ive heard tbh. how the fuck does he do it? been messin around with various chains of effects, distortions, chorus and a heap of random poop, but gettin nowhere )-:

Sounds like he has a resonant boost around 250-300 hz, then he's saturated the 808 to the point where it starts sounding square-ish. The sub is quite high in volume when everything's saturated, making the higher part (the 250-300hz) start phasing or whatever the term would be here. (The higher frequencies' volume starts 'vibrating' at the speed of the sub wavecycle when the sub is pushing the whole sound into the saturator)
Someone who knows the technicalities of this effect would explain it better than me

EDIT: Listened to the second clip now, doesn't sound like it has the same 'vibrating' effect on the higher frequencies, so it's probably saturated before the resonant boost
