I'm about to mythologize a scene
beyond the memories,
or even the ability to conceptualize,
of those who want their underground to have roots.

Talking about the ******** art surf skate music scene.
They really don't know (yet) where they're coming from.
God love 'em.
Their antecedents were so far cooler than they can imagine,
coming from inner ***** and becoming it's backroom boys.

To all the world's artists,
evolving friends & communities,
in their regionalist upwellings:
All power to you and your youthful being in the dissolving now

but he, I, watched some of the MTV Music Video awards
for soft porn, self-congratulation & cretinism.
I noted the following:
Lorde concreted her face
Snoop Droog earned his money
& Taylor Swift didn't refer to her diary.
i also learnt that "shit" is a genre
and it's all about the music (not)

a prime exemplar of why our beloved underground needs dig deeper
to outlast the surface scum.

not that I think I'm better than anybody involved in such galas,
just a little less inclined to think that participation has ultimate value.
