I dunno. I can't imagine anything realer than the Chicago drill shit, even guys like Action Bronson have a feeling of no-BS realness. And those are both massively popular. Compare that to 10 years ago where for anything to get that big it had to go through the fuckin "Hip Hop n' RnB" pop industry. Back then anything big was mostly some fuckin flavor-of-the-month rapper who's been put in the spotlight by his more popular rapper/singer/producer friend in the industry.

I think Hip Hop is sick AF nowadays, much better than a few years ago.

Dance music IMO suffers from too much blogging, soundcloud etc but that's a conversation we've had many times here.

I think you could argue the internet has spread street rap to audiences that it couldn't necessarily reach before (mostly international), but I wouldn't say its anymore real or fake than it was in the last decade.
