leaving a hospital under the stewardship of a live Drum and Bass band was always a terrible idea

Must be a lot of logistics to run a hospital like that

schmeichel jnr is certainly looking promising btw

Peter Schmeichel is hosting the danish friendlies show.
You should have seen the spastic... Not only be the kind of uncomfortably proud dad that makes you throw up in your mouth, but also appearing on one splitscreen while jnr appeared on the other, showcasing their entirely identical haircuts and stringy rapey beards.

But the funniest part is that he was ACTUALLY better as a tv presenter on english tv speaking english, which is beyond baffling.

i think chelsea beating city will help in that later when mourinho gets upset about something and fucks up away against LULL, mimford, brumshire, Sqweegan or something.

Seems Birmingham fans let down by a failure of a credible fit and proper persons test

Owner jailed. Only aware of this and interested in what any Birmingham fans are thinking of this.

It's been an utter shitstorm from start to finish. :(

Here's the story. Our previous owners rescued us in the early 90s when we were on the verge of bankruptcy and were in Division 2 (now League One). They invested a sensible amount of money in us, and after a long spell in Division 1 (now The Championship), they finally got us promoted. They never really spent big, and we only ever spent a few seasons in the prem at a time with the feeling we were never really going anywhere. Eventually the board-fan relationship soured, and they started to sell the club.

Yeung attempted to buy the whole club, but failed, and ended up with about 15%. The friction there caused Steve Bruce to resign as our manager. We were relegated, and eventually Yeung & co. bought the whole club (massively overpriced at about £80m) and we went back up. He promised us around £80m to spend on players. That never materialised and people began to distrust him, but we did break our transfer record twice (wasn't much though). We had our best ever finish, 9th in the prem, and the next year we won the League Cup. There was talk that if we stayed up, we'd need to find about £7m from somewhere. If we went down, it would be worse.

We went down. We sold about £25m worth of players, and bought £0 worth in. We still finished in the play offs, but didn't go up, and there was more talk of having to sell players. Carson Yeung got charged with money laundering. We sold about £15m worth of players, but it didn't seem to do anything to make it better. Our ground was put up as security on a loan. The Carson Yeung case went through appeal, after appeal, after appeal. We sold another £10/11m worth of players.

Throughout this, there was rumours of various investors that never materialised. It was revealed that Xtep, a Chinese brand that were manufacturing our kits actually got more money from BCFC than BCFC got from Xtep. Carson Yeung's 18 year old son was made a director. Directors left and new ones were hired on a weekly basis.

Our club has been torn apart. We had a real chance at becoming a solid prem team, instead we sell anyone that has any potential at a extra cheap price, any promising youth we have are snapped up (and we've been going through the best period of youth in my lifetime).

An Italian businessman based in Birmingham has tried to buy the club three times, but every time has eventually been told that Yeung won't sell.

It's been a nightmare, and I can't see it being sorted any time soon. In what appears to be a cruel cycle, some Beijing based media company attempted to buy 15% of BCFC, but failed to raise the funds.

I really hope it's sorted soon, because it's shit. Our only hope at the moment is to try and survive in the championship until we're taken over by someone with the interest, stability and funds to put us where the 2nd biggest club in the 2nd city should be (at least in the prem).

Sad times, and always one of those things you never think will happen to your club until it does. No coincidence that this period in the BCFC history has seen me with my lowest interest in football ever. Still though, I got to see them win their first major trophy in 50 years, and I saw european football at St. Andrews...
