To clarify, that's not mine. It was from a studio article elsewhere and it just made me
I've got a Midiverb, though think I've got the III not the II, and wouldn't mind one of the rack mounted Bassstations. Also spotted this in another picture;
Teisco 60F above the Juno, not the most common of the old synths, but think Hot Chip have got one that get's a fair bit of use.
Just refurbishing two Dynacord TAM21 analogue flangers, these things sound incredible. While i was testing them both, I thought Id try one into the other...
Musikmesse 2014: microGranny 2.0 (we're not sure what happened to version 1) is a new handmade monophonic granular sampler that's making its debut in Frankfurt. It comes from newcomer Bastl Instruments and can play WAV files from a microSD card and record them via a line input or its built-in microphone.
Perhaps the best way to understand what microGranny 2.0 can do is to watch the video above but, on a technical level, we can tell you that it enables you to adjust the grain size, shift speed (positive or negative), sample rate (tuned or free run), and crush and envelope (attack/release).
There's also a MIDI input so that you can control parameters, transpose samples and play individual grains using external gear.
MicroGranny 2.0 is handmade in the Czech Republic and costs €160 excluding tax. It'll ship no later than 7 April. Find out more on the Bastl Instruments website.

FUUUHK Wub, you may have just changed my life again.
This IS the sampler for me. This is what my studio sounds like, and I work hard to do this. This is like doing what I want, right off the bat.
AND this is doing a lot of what I want to do in the drum sampler I am NOT building in reaktor.
Sounds really amazing. Even if that akai analog drum machine gives me the goose bumps I felt in the mid 80's listening to 808's, I think this is way more where I'm at.
Shit. I was going to pre-order one, but the fucking pre orders are sold out. And the second pre-orders. Knobs and granular? That sounds like some kind of audio fuckery I can get down with.

They only did 10 in each batch so not surprised they've gone.
I'm a little gutted I didn't get one before they went, but TBH I have been buying a lot recently and I should really focus on what I have a bit more before adding more stuff to the lab.

Same here. But I have been wanting one of these since I discovered the first version some years too late. I had a look around, there are some other granular boxes out there, but not one that would do this stuff exactly....

Here is my technique for out there suction: Start as rigid and tight and normal as you can. Then start working, the song will naturally veer into the depths of madness. Just pull the ripcord moments before it gets too crazy.
LOTS of potential for this, might have to pick one up. If nothing else I could do custom jingles for podcasts
If you're a boring looking dude above 30 and rep for a technology company, you _need_ an inappropriately youthful bad haircut to make yourself more presentable to a slightly younger audience!
