i don't even wanna go into details about the shit i've had to sort with new zealand post lately ... rubbish.

feelin you on this one - down with snail mail. nothin beats the feeling of getting a present in the mail but when they don't turn up half the time you may as well settle for the electronic format.

i'm takin this show on the road.

the ignorance on this issue astounds me sometimes. is waiting a little bit longer for a record to come really the end of the fucking world? i know quite a few posties and they are anything BUT lazy, trust.

as a union girl, i say: support the workers. they are not inconveniencing you because they WANT to. collective bargaining is the only way to push the bosses to take care of the workers.

sorry, i have more sympathy for workers who feel things are bad enough that they need to strike, than i do for someone who cannot get their records. as frustrating as waiting on your records is, in the grand scheme of things, records are a luxury. making sure your work is fair and paying livable wages...necessity.

Yes thats all well said and done, but i am an ex Royal Mail Postal worker, we went on strike a few times since i was there. Did we ever get anythin out of it??? no we didnt, we just backed down went back to work and becoz of all the back dated mail infact made life alot harder for us workers. The managers try to get people in to work on the sly while the strikes are on, but them few that did stay in the office to work or go out on the vans while i was there got alot of shit from the other workers . But then i didnt give em any shit coz the way i see it is, them men/women have familys to provide for and bills to pay. So if they want to work instead i was ans am all for it. As for sympathy im not asking it from you or any1 else and i hope not to get any.. Just a bit pissed im gona have to wait a bit longer for long awated tunes and felt like a lil moan.. Such a bad boy i am... I allso have Sympathy for the Royal mail workers coz i know how tuff the job gets, especily on Deliverys/Walks. Anyway big up my boys at the e14 office large up all the Cooks in the canten, Cooked breakfast was the nutts :D
pps.. Strikes still suck dick though

trust, i definitely would not wanna be on strike either. if there were a better way to put pressure on the bosses it would be nice.

i know how bad it sucks when you are waiting for new records, believe me. i just wanted to throw in my 3 cents and support of striking workers. :)

It's some bullshit and it's putting a nail in the coffin of the Royal Mail.

I work public sector too and for some reason shuffling a few bits of paper around has garnered us a bigger percentage pay rise than prison guards and the police. Obviously beauracracy is far more difficult than keeping psycho's off the street so fair play to us I say. We're in danger of paper cuts and vicious staples every day - what do they have to put up with - being stabbed or shot?

Funny old world innit
Hmm....

IMPHO it's all bullshit, how many companies there's apart of Royal Mail...
while they strike and shit other companies will take over. I'm looking at this from customer's point of view. I don't care what company delivers me my precious records - as long as they're delivered to my door quick and safe, it's all good.

for example redeyerecords message here:
Postal strike info : There is a postal strike for the next 48 hours so if you are in the UK and ordering 10 or less records then please select the courier option for next day shipping, there is an extra £3.00 charge. If you are ordering over 10 records then there is no need to worry as we ship those orders by courier anyway.
