Interesting sub bass... How to accomplish?

Post by samdam1 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 10:39 pm

Hey guys, the sub bass in this track is super nice, wondering if anyone knows how to get it?

From 1:06, yes the sub bass, not the 'wah' bass.

And please don't just say "just distort a sine wave, simple" because no, you will be forever negged.

Cheers for any help, much appreciated! :)

Wow. Could they fit any more shitty cliched lyrics in to that song?

What is it about the sub?

Classic DSF...

Some extra harmonics, I can't work out how to go about it, my first guess was to use FM and modulate two sine waves together, sounds alright but not quite.

it wouldn't surprise me if they just took a wavetable in massive, could be any WT that has a decent amount of harmonics, and lowpassed it. This way you can control how many harmonics come through with the LP filter.

sub is mono, sinewave, no bullshit or added harmonix, keep all that for your mids man ;)
