For me (and I presume many others) it goes to Mt.Eden - Sierra Leone. Strangely enough though I've never really listened to any more of his music,

This has probably been done tons of times but I've not been round long enough to see, so which producer/track first got you into the genre....either on a level of wanting to produce the music or just become a big fan of the genre as a whole?

There was a lot of stuff I found that week, but this is the one that stuck with me.

Caspa and Rusko Fabriclive 37, more specifically Terminator by Caspa. Afterwards, Lurka became the first producer who I followed closely.

Around new years time 2009/10 in some dirty campground in Coromendel, I was 17 so couldn't even buy booze yet, I got a ride to the bottle store with some guys that were buying for me, they were playing all this (at the time) amazing music to me, trying to remember back it was probably all nero, bar9, rusko. But of course, this is the one that really stood out an got me into it

Well I heard katy on a mission, then a bunch of bro like swagga etc, but what really "got me into it" was probably Skream - Hedd Banger with that sick video that tune had and Quest - Last Days.
And Burial - Southern Comfort

Actually heard shit loads at Subdub and Exodus by that point but that was the first track Spotify threw out when I asked it for dubstep. Still got the vinyl

Monkey Steak - Lighthouse Dub (Pinch Remix)
Honestly had no idea what I was listening to, was like someone had run Brixton reggae through an echo chamber then whacked some really dark garage underneath it.

Not one particular song, but I heard these 5 tracks for the first time over the course of a night searching for tunes on the internet. Absolutely blew my mind.....

Re: That 'first' Dubstep song that got you into the genre?
was strange coz i was listening to a lot of grime and going to sidewinders in milton keynes but didn't know what dubstep was.
i used to listen to dark garage like el b and darqwan but never heard it called dubstep.
first time i took notice of the work dubstep was a mate of mine who used to listen to gabba techno and stuff msn'd me anti war dub. just sounded like a strain of reggae to me at the time but i absolutely loved it.
i may have heard dubstep without knowing its dubstep before then but anti war dub made me sit up and take note.
its kind of a shame its become a cliche dubstep tune and the hipsters are too cool to give anti war dub a mention when mentioning the top dubstep tracks, but i believe its still a very special tune and wouldn't let my copy go even for £1000

One of my ex bruv's sended me this on msn in '10.:
I also remembered that i've said that he didn't had taste and that i'm never gonna like dubstep. Happily he continued his crusade and after giving me the link to Mary Anne Hobbs i felt in love.

excision - warning was the tune that got me interested in dubstep, but either distance - falling or battle sequence made me go yeah this genre is sick
