Fuck u I think it's a choon lol. Wasn't expecting to like it, but put in on in the shop and was like "damn thats sick".

It is a bit bait they put basically the same tune on both sides of the flip tho…lazy

Loefah stated in one or two interviews that Mickey Pearce has an album coming up and I think he said some time this year
he was probs referring to the beat tape you know, not to be a downer but loefahs not the most specific kinda guy
youre probably right :(

fwiw it was pretty decent though, especially for a free release
only thing that would make me have to disagree with that is that a lot of the tunes on the beattape are not DJ friendly. I'm willing to bet that the beattape was used to promote the album which would have full DJ friendly versions of all the tunes.

open ur DAW -> insert a 16 of hihats to the start of every tune -> u have just "dj friendlied" the mickey pearce free beat tape

I actually decided to run each of the tunes through serato and apparently Mickey Pearce already "DJ-friendly'd" most of the tunes with pre-inserted loop cues to use while playing the tunes. :|

Swims is arguably the best release on the label

Ok maybe not best release (That would be Stubborn Phase) but IMO the alternate mix (B side) is the best track on the label

Top 10 Swamp tracks

1. Swims (Alternate Mix)
2. Music Deep Inside
3. Mean Streets 1
4. Work Them
5. Mean Streets 2
6. One Of Us
7. Steam
8. Work It
9. Electron
10. Basic Needs

retribution/get out of here by pinch didn't get nearly enough hype when it came out

found it weird how loefah wasn't playing those tunes before they came out

Don't Ask, Don't Get and Feels So are top 15 Swamp tracks. I was thinking about this a few days ago and the label really does have a very very strong discography

i would say this has become less and less true as time goes on tho

back when tunes like work them, dont ask dont get, feels so, etc starting popping up in mixes it was a lot more exciting, refreshing, and "woah this shit is really pushing some barriers" compared to stuff like furrball, steam, etc (tracks that bang, dont get me wrong... but i dont think they're anywhere near as brilliant or original as the aforementioned shit)

Steam is one of swamp's best imo. Even paleman's latest is sick compared to the rest of what the nu deep cru are at these days
