Wen's set better thAn his System one Marcus? Looked lively in there
Pretty sure he played the original version, found his selection and mixing a lot better than at system it went off tbh.
Nice, i got the impression that nerves/the occasion got the better of him at System but there was enough big chunes in there to get the impression he'd smack it in the right circumstances. How was the venue?
Pretty nice little venue located in the basement, drink prices weren't too bad and the sound was decent was decent for the venue size. only bad thing was no coatroom but would definitively go again.

it's beyond sick. I'm not too much into grime nor "130", but the album stream on RA has been played at least five times yesterday. copped the album off redeye afterwards. essential.

it's better not to get this thing elitist - you have to give newcomers opportunities! it's just terrible if newcomers don't get any of them... we should be welcoming. besides, everybody benefits when more talented producers get established: more good music.

this thread is one of the rare streams of 130 in the net, so it makes it a great place for promotion. so, atleast for me its completely ok to post finished tunes and mixes now and then. i believe the sound is still small enough to not get the thread too spammy.

There's a gentle irony to the cover's 'One way' signal

Also, Mumdance went in on Rinse again with Novelist, loads of new dubs and stuff. Good MCing too from Nov.

maaate the drink prices slaughtered me. I was outside getting licked haha. But yeah venue was wicked, was def a HUGE step up from the last time i played there. Although poor Parris, was rollin' dubplates and apparently the decks were in bad condition and the stage was a bit bouncy so there was plenty o' skipping... Also the CDJ stands kept spinning around hahah.

next time, just bring eight squash balls and two solid-as-fuck concrete plates. put the decks on the concrete plates and the squashballs between the table and the plates. jump around all you want.

fuck off gareth

every decent venue should have these around. they even use them where I play, and these are some of the filthiest, run-down, rat-ridden and moth-bitten places known to me. I'd prefer brothels tbh.

I've just read your review and also listened to Wen's signals and i have to say that you're on point with your review. I'm also sharing the same opinion. Very good album that really represent the 130 sound on it's best on the LP format. Good job, Wen! :Q:
