Not good at vocoding, but sounds like some distortion after the vocoder?
Use some carrier with lots of high end, FM maybe?
I need to stop changing my sig

Hey, finally got soundcloud

This is all speculation but I think it is all a Melodyne formant trick. I only have played with the demo do I can't recreate it, but I remember getting that harsh robo sound by moving the formant levels pretty far from the original read.

Yeah, like the tecnique he uses to re-pitch and change the notes of his chopped vocals right? ...

Sooo this right here is super close and I didn't use melodyne.. its ringmod with a granular effect then send it through a vocoder for added umph! :W:

Not to self promote, (and to my testament, I address that ragga bomb is my inspiration), the track in my sig does the "International" and other stunt that skrillex does with reggae vocals...Now mine aren't effected properly, but what I do, I think he does as a foundation and that is to harmonically layer different pitches/tones of the same sample. Take this further through an FX chain might yield and VERY close result, but I don't believe just one layer is used as the sound is still pretty full before the drop hits....

You got really close. What granulizing plugin did you use (and what settings did you have in it), and what did you use as a vocoder carrier?

Sorry that isn't close at all. Your sound sounds like a crappy vocoder. Check this one out. I made this in 5 seconds using Waves tune. It isn't exact because Melodyne has a better formant tool but this is pretty much all that it is. It is just a non-transparent autotuning effect.

Well, maybe if we combinate both techniques...

LOL Okay would you like the project file you punk? Huh? Would that make it easier for you ? I tried a vocoder but what was shown here as my preview wasn't vocoded..I LIED(my bad) my mistake for NOT using a VOCODER on the sound that was previewed and still happening to get a better sound than what you showed us.

My argument here is over. Carry on silly man.

OmegaMode dude you get so angsty when people say they don't like your stuff... it's comical.

As for the vocals... I can hear multiple layers, the most prominent is the initially pitched down layer. Sounds like a bandpass filter/eq too similar to the classic "telephone effect". It does kind of sound as if the sound has been "force pitched" using something like Melodyne or Pitcher to give a glitchy sound between the words.

Theres some parallel distortion - there's a clean layer and raspy crisp layer that's got a shit ton of distortion to emphasise the highs. I also wouldn't be surpised if CLA Vocals was used too, Skrillex uses it on a lot of his vocal work. Running things super hot in CLA can really give a crispiness to the sound when you push it into the red, and the stereo spreader can give the sound more weight.
