Chemical Records down for good?

Post by Jacksown » Sat Mar 29, 2014 5:36 am

I haven't been able to access the site for the last few days, Facebook page doesn't exist anymore, and twitter feed has come to a halt. Wondering if the company went out of business for good this time? Would be pretty sad. :( Also, an official statement would've been nice...

Their twitter is still up: https://twitter.com/chemicaluk maybe they might not be gone for good and no way would they keep all of that stock without trying to shift some of it.

the last thing i heard of them is that they changed the name of the company itself, so maybe they are just changing the website and the name in general?

Made an order with them last Monday that included a Friday shipping for Monday delivery item and it hasn't turned up today b2b got no shipping confirmation email.

Pretty pissed off tbh, won't be using them again if they ever come back.

Not a massive one but still ~£25. I sent an email this morning but haven't had a response yet, just gonna leave it a few more days before I go mental.

This, it was a bit rough when the new version came out but love it now, nice to see a site actually scale with resolution so makes it a joy to look at.

No issue with Redeye, lovely shop. Still waiting on two orders, but that's done to Delroy Edwards, not Tom.

I probably bought most of my records from Chemical over the past few years. BEst site layout in my opinion, back to Juno for me. I've actually never bought a record from redeye, the site always looked well sketchy.

Haven't bought from Chemical for absolutely ages after I saw the light that RedEye is the finest online record shop by a country mile.

The new layout was a bit confusing at first but it makes total sense when you get used to it.

and they don't put those fucking stickers on everything

This. Though I was planning to make a big Black Box/Box Clever order from chemical...

PS: Once I got a record from Redeye with a Chemical Records sticker on it :6:

i didn't use to care about the chemical stickers until i discovered a life without them

+ redeye reserve is a nobel prize invention

chemical always had a good equipment section tho also novelty gifts and shit

always a shame to see a vinyl vendor close

^ I'm pretty sure a lot of small local vinyl shops aren't too sad though.
