Finally found the best 3rd Party Vocoder for Logic Pro X

I just thought i'd share this with everyone. I've been searching for a long time for a good vocoder to run in Logic to use on Massive and FM8 basses...and i'm excited to say i've finally found what i'm looking for. I've tried Orange Vocoder....hated it. If your wanting to just do a vocal talk box effect it'll work fine....but if you're trying to do a dirty vocoded FM8 or Massive bass, IMO, it's not that great. I couldn't get it to do what i want with the options it gives you. The biggest thing is being able to control the modulation amount your applying to the carrier....that and a lot a filter bands. You get this in MVocoder.....along with the ability to use up to 100 bands!!! Not just the usual 20-40. I love this thing...and it only costs $66. Compare that to Orange...which will run u $250.

nice, going to check this out... you are right about Orange, i didnt care for it at all. and the EVOC can work but is limited and seems like it was not designed for application on synths really... ie having the bandwidth limitation of 8k

You might as well check out the rest of what Melda offers. I dont use it personally, but I have heard a lot of praise around the campfire. And the price is right...

have you tried waldorf's Lector? much nicer UI.....i wonder how it compares in sound and parameters though...

I tried Lector. It still wasn't what I was after. It still an impressive Vocoder tho. Outside of MVocoder it's the only 1 that will allow you 100 bands.

Lector has some deep controls but it is nowhere near as deep as MVocoder. Lector is also more expensive bc your paying for a synth and a vocoder...much like orange.
MVocoder has no internal synth. It's designed solely to be applied to an outside carrier and outside modulator.
All the controls/settings reflect that to give you maximum control. It's definitely not a simple vocoder. That being the only downside.

If I hadnt found MVocoder I prob would've went with Lector.

I've just gotten into the Melda stuff recently, for creative effects they are really great at what they do
