All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

sometimes i hate the world so much. not like "oh fuck my life, it sucks". like, "people suck." People are good though, but sociality corrupts people. Sometimes it feels like everyone I know is stressed out and angry. It makes me start to feel stressed out and angry. Makes me think that everyone was nice and innocent in the hypothetical 'beginning,' and then stress and anger spread like wildfire. Usually I can just put bullshit aside and focus on the good things I have, but it seems like most other people can't do that. And I think it's a choice. If you take a step back, and just look at life for what it's worth, you'll realize that there's no reason to be angry and pissy and sad. Like, rationally speaking. Why would you want to purposefully make yourself feel bad? It's insane to me.

I feel like with all the problems in America... that shit trickles down. I wonder if the least corrupt countries have the happiest citizens.

statistically central and especially north european countries (iceland, denmark, norway, switzerland, austria, belgium, etc) rank lowest in corruption and also highest in most content citizens

Yeah like I can see how that shit trickles down. I mean there's obvious things like funding doesn't go to the right places, causing stress on the people who are already stressed.

But also like, in my public university, there's so much red tape, cause no one wants to get sued, and no one wants to use human judgment, they'd rather just be lazy and follow arbitrary rules that make zero sense half the time. You have to walk the most ridiculously thin line in order to get anything done. Also because nobody really gives a shit and they'd rather pass you off to another employee. And that makes students pissed, then they redirect that anger. I know so many people that are just angry, irritable motherfuckers.

And when people are really petulant, vengeful fuckers, but put on a mask of constant 24/7 happiness and excitement to convince people that they're such a cheery person... I hate that. Stop pretending man. I know so many people who try to make other people seem upset/sad/angry/negative in general in order to frame themselves as the "happy, upbeat, energetic" one in contrast.

Also selfishness, that shit really pisses me off. I can't stand selfish people.

Maybe I'm just a Buddhist at heart or some shit. I think I'm fundamentally a happy & nice person the majority of the time - because I want to and choose to be. That makes me happy. :-D

Maybe it's harder to be pissed at the government when you're cold the whole fucking time. Or jacked on coffee. Scandinavia drinks insane coffee compared to other places.
