Hey guys!

I'm a new producer from America. I've been writing music my entire life. I'm a fan of big heavy melodic music and also just gross stuff and dubstep has all of that at times. I've listened to it for a good while and now I'm excited to start making it =)

Most importantly I'm hoping to learn a lot from all of you.

That's my first song... It's messy and I know there's flaws but I'm hoping it's just going to get better from here

Hi,

I am a newcomer to this forum. I have only been on here for a few weeks I think. I got really interested in electronic music when I went to Austin to go tubing with my brother and somebody played Skrillex with their ice chest boombox. I thought it sounded so cool. I have always thought synthesizers were awesome. I have been playing music for about 23 years to which most of my time as a musician was dedicated to guitar. I got bored with that and got into using FL Studio and I have invested in good Vst's to learn and have fun with. I have been learning quite a bit using this software and I am enjoying myself learning to make my own sounds and at some point I want to do my own thing that doesn't copy other people. I may incorporate using my guitar in the electronic music somehow and make it sound really cool. At this point I am searching to find my way by checking out all of the instruments that I can get my hands on and paying attention to what is going on in the music industry. My goal is to be as unique as I can with my own expression. I haven't really made a whole lot of songs yet, but I think I am progressing pretty well given that I have only made a handful of songs. I am glad to be part of this growing music community! I hope to have a lot of fun being in this forum!

Been browsing this site for a few years now, and finally decided to join this site, since I've learned tons here alone. I look forward to finally sharing some knowledge of my own where I can, and being a part of this forum!

Sean Mc Chapman

Hello everyone my name is well my username. I recently just actually attempted to make some music that ended up sounding decent, but I'm still new to making music. I like anime, Youtube(it's a genre), and drawing. This is my link to my art http://seanmcchapman.deviantart.com/. I'm hoping to learn the site soon and get help with finding good programs, tutorials, and just good music.

Hi another newbie here, I've only been listening to Dubstep for about 4 years so hope that doesn't offend anyone in me joining!

I was a big fan of Liquid Funk (chilled drum and bass) for many years and am ashamed to admit that I hadn't even heard of Dubstep until Skrillex came out. Now personally I am not a fan of Skrillex, but I believe that music is subjective and hey if something makes people happy then let them listen to it, not looking to start a flame war here.

I was wrong in my assumption that all Dubstep sounded like Skrillex (again, each to their own) and so dismissed it. However, eventually I stumbled upon Asdee14's Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Asdee14 and it introduced me to a whole new world. I couldn't get enough of artists like Silkie and L-Wiz who create such wonderful relaxing bass music with jazzy influences, which was what appealed to me about Liquid Funk and now it is probably my favourite genre, although I generally like anything which has a mellow vibe to it.

My favourite artists are probably Von D, Silkie, L-Wiz, Swindle, Quest, Jay 5ive, Phaeleh, Joker, Mizz Beatz, Om Unit, but listen to a lot more.
Thanks for letting me join this awesome community and if you have any recommendations, send them my way!

Hi DSF, I've browsed the forums on and off for years and only recently joined.

Super brief musical history: Started making DnB & EDM in 1999, released monthly with pHluid (sub-group of the ACiD.org demo crew) from 2000-2001, Mainly hip-hop from 2002-2009 with production on dozens of albums from US to Australia. Been inactive for years but working again towards dubstep and related genres now!

I've been a dubstep fan for years and appreciate the intense technical aspects that most people miss.

I'm looking forward to actively posting and discussing with everyone!

I wasn't "talking shit on Skrillex", just saying that I am not a fan of his, but have nothing against anyone who is - everyone should be free to listen to what they enjoy.

I'm sorry if my post offended you, it was certainly not my intention.
