almodovar films didn´t use to be serious at that time, plus they are a lot of comedians there like kike san francisco or santiago segura

comedy can be serious when its political or in his case, when it's so different that it fucks with the perception of gender, sex whatever.

but yeah some of them are light hearted in tone but even trier does that you know, nymphomaniac or the idiots for example, has that plane or level going. or kusturica or kaurismaki

Decent action movie, far better than every other blockbuster that got a release past summer. But that's not difficult. 7/10

Absolutely phenomenal film. One of Coppola's very best.
Going right into my top 10 list this one. Really, you must see this.

13 Assassins, Takashi Miike not going over the top and didn't realize he directed until it was over. Phenomenal movie 1 hour of buildup and another hour of non stop samurai action.
I need to get the Blu Ray of the international edition as the US version skipped a bit of Japanese lore in it.

Big ups for this. I love Takashi Miike, but it's pretty much impossible to get my lady to sit through most of his movies without needing a week of counselling afterwards. This might make good bank holiday weekend fare.

It's a proper film from him nothing really over the top in his style, it actually won a bunch of awards. It's a great homage to Seven Samurai and a great Miike flick.

Mentioned it before, but The Bug and Dj Vadim did an alternative soundtrack to this called "Tapping The Conversation" which is well worth a listen.

Me too but this is proper, angry, badass not fucking around Cage. Personally I loved the film. There are a lot of poor people in it though, so be wary of that.

as deadly said, 12AS is award bait

^Just back from seeing Raid 2 tonight. It is even better than the first, by a fair bit. Even crazier than the first one if you thought that was possible :cornlol:

Far better storyline this time too. Doesn't let up in the action either, 2 and a half hours of carnage, mental body count haha.
