I remember when Maths + English came out I had to specially order it from HMV because they weren't stocking it. The people pushing Amy may have been the ones pushing him, but its insanely hard for a foreigner to break into hip hop in the US, especially with the accent (changed or not) and especially at that point in time.

The only songs that saw success were shit like bonkerz, which is what I thought you were talking about, thus why I was talking about Europe. That shit was easily forgotten about over on this side.
Ofcourse, dont school me on rap dude, please!

I'm saying he prioritized having a go at trying to become a us rap artist, over maintaining his spot as a young fresh producer that even got a mercury prize for his work, that inluded him making the beats. It was never going to happen, but maybe he was apart from a few jamaicans and canadians the closest to maybe getting there, but it was a dumb decision not just artistically.

I mean he was a grime artist not just a rapper right? His old beats were actually sick, I Luv U, Stop Dat, Brand New Day, Graftin etc. How do you just stop doing that? Wonder if he still sits down and fucks around on a DAW sometimes.

5panellers recognize 2pac is the automatic bro choice for "real hip hop bro". They probably rate Yung Lean at this point.

he is just a dude from minnesota. he reminds me of 2014 atomsphere, also minnesota and a precursor to white mid west rap.

Im not sure u can wave that reposted cultural appropriation stick of yours at him. you don't have the skills or knowledge to assess that right now.

what culture is it that he is appropriating? internet culture? 'black culture' or 'hip hop culture' ? whatever it is he has approateted it in a good way.

he has a great voice, can clearly sing. this is a case of the image of something trumping the content in a negative way.
i agree he is super hyped but there is substance to it.
lol fuk
