A,) As far as I know there's no "crime" in buying alcohol, cigarettes, other luxuries with your benefit money. So you couldn't possibly report me unless I was feigning to be ill which I'm not.wub wrote:Glad to hear it, I was dangerously close to clicking herejaydot wrote:I did say possibly. Although that's irrelevant as I was trolling.
B.) How do know it was coming out of my benefit money? I've just had a birthday. I could be lending the money. I could have savings
C.) LOL as if. Would be the first report they''ve had from the realms of the internet.

For someone who normally makes pragmatic, reasoned posts you've lost me with this one. What's good use of taxpayers funds? Unless you mean posting on here which all I can to you is you're a hypocritemagma wrote:Hilarious. I don't think we do, the average celebration these days is getting pissed and I'm as I say not doing that. It doesn't mean "that much" to me and since I've got Irish heritage I probably give more shits about St Patricks, just playing into the jaydot caricature of Nationalist ignorant twat for shits and giggles. If youj MUST know.magma wrote:So what are you doing to celebrate St George's Day?
Trolling seems fairly Scandinavian.

I don't smoke and rarely drink, I wouldn't miss it if they stopped it tbh And by 2015 I hope to be working or in education. So you concede they'll win the election?

It was a joke, jaydot. Don't be so sensitive. You might have noticed in the past that I'm vehemently pro-benefits and anti-troll.jaydot wrote:For someone who normally makes pragmatic, reasoned posts you've lost me with this one. Re: Happy St. Georges
Wellllll it depends on my health and since I haven't divulged what s is exactly wrong with me and to what extent, and since I can't even gauge that myself. I got straight As at A level a few years back now and went to one of the top universities to study English, I was going places man I could've done a fair bit with myself and it grinds my gears to be on benefits knowing I've experienced a better life than that.wub wrote:jaydot wrote:And by 2015 I hope to be working or in educationjaydot wrote:So you concede they'll win the election?
I may go back to uni but I won't study English and I doubt it'll be a "top" university. And yes that leaves me bitter and yes that leaves me dissatisfied but what can you do, gotta roll with the punches.

Re: Happy St. Georges
Well I think we live in a society where we're judged at different levels by different people. And as a working class guy like myself I can relate; people are consciously judged on where they live, grew up, their accent, their clothes, their mannerisms and demeanour, and for someone like me who grew up on the fringes of a rough Mancunian council estate I will always maintain the accent and the mannerisms etc.wub wrote:How do you mean?jaydot wrote:Not exclusively, I feel oppressed by society in general.wub wrote:In your case, blame the immigrants.jaydot wrote:And yes that leaves me bitter and yes that leaves me dissatisfied but what can you do
I feel I was judged at university by my middle class peers, not isolated apart from when they left me out of getting the house in 2nd year but certainly judged. I feel people judge you in the workplace too. I bet if my CV had an Altrincham address on it compared to where I live now I'd be offered more interviews. It's probably fair to say that no matter how hard you try to climb the social ladder you'll always be met with oppression, more so if you are say black or Asian, depending on your socal background.
I'm essentially a straight working class male and I don't bend any social norms, I'm not special. I don't get "special" treatment (ok I went to a top uni but who's to say I didn't get their on merit? And that leads me to ponder "Can you get to where you want to get on merit alone without oppression from other members of society irrespective of your creed, colour, background, socal class?
I feel like I've outgrown my mates from home because although we're of the same social class they're not neccessarily on the same intellectual and cultural wavelengths as me, and I'm marooned in a way. Get my drift?
Re: Happy St. Georges
you shouldn't put your address on your cv for that reason

Ironically those that I've seen banging on about St.Georges day have mentioned St.Paddys more and showing they own that great English trait of moaning.
