@gurnumsbug - Pretty dope idea for maybe one of those club/heavy-trap tracks. Look to RL Grime for inspiration on structure and such maybe.

@Annex - Dope vibe! either ditch the 808-cowbell or make it heavier, and maybe do some playing with the lowpass and something more to really get your build up to snap.

@mthrfnk - Love the intro clip!! Tried to do something similar with a tennis game but failed miserably. The jam around 1.4 mins could become something dope, put more thought behind that whapwhap-synth, it didn't do it self justice as is. Loving the following jam as well, the piano was a bit too cheesy for my taste tho. The one around 5 has great sample chops but again, think you should do something with your piano, don't really feel it.

Conclusion: You have really something going on, focus on your amazing ability with samples and synths, but take a second thought on the piano.

Alexandercunningham - Really like that! Really good authentic hip hop vibe but mixed with modern trap elements. Love it. Can imagine somebody spitting on this.

Gurnumsbug - Like the idea! Could go somewhere. Love the tune in your signature though!! That is so good. Reminds me of burial.

Annex - Liking the intro so far. Hats are very well mixed - reverb sounds nice. Love the drop too! I think it definitely needs more building before the drop. Actually this is pretty sick. Work on the intro and it’ll be really good!

mthrfnk - I think as an LP this will work really well. Everything is extremely well produced and mixed and your melodies and ideas are very good. Maybe it’s just what I’m listening on but it sounds like it good all do with a little bit more “weight”. But if it’s getting mastered as an LP then that won’t be an issue.

@Ascian: Right off the start I am getting a really chill 40's vibe, the drums punch through really nice, so there is no clarity issue with that at all. The vinyl static surround the track really give it an old feel as well, which is something I always love doing. The innocent breathy vocals really compliment the track too. 0:52 at first was like wooooh, that caught me off guard, but a few more listens, it flows in really good. The drops is very clean, and with that asian/jungle lead on top of it, overall, this is a really good tune man. 2:31 has a really gritty feel, which would sound mental live! good job on this one man! I've been listening to your stuff for a while, and you have come a long way [:

@Alexandercunningham: That intro vocal haha. The drop comes in right away, which isn't a bad thing, but maybe you want to add another 4 - 8 bars on the intro. The drop is really clean, and the snare, and hats come through really good. You might want to turn up the clap just a tad, cause it's a bit low. The distorted 808's sound really good too, I always love distorting my 808's, adding a bit of saturation or FM to them. 2:40 has a very ambient feel, which I love in trap, and that reese, wet bass compliments it so well! I am a big fan of hiphop, and trap, so this is really grabbing my ear! good tune man!

@Gurnumsbug: Sounds like you wanted to do something like Party Monster from Krewella. I would have a bigger kick during the house/hardcore section, and maybe add some auto panning on that wonky lead, with a splash of reverb. Some faster hat patterns on and off would compliment this tune a bit more. I would add some in between 808's too, pitching up every now and then too.

@Annex: The intro sound like a mix between Eptic, and Datsik [: A nice wonky spacey lead would sound dope, into the drop! a 0:58 maybe pitch it higher, so it sounds really wonky! but man, this sounds so much like Eptic! really digging it man [: For sure upload more when you have more!

Nice sample work. I feel like the intro could use more atmosphere to give it more depth and character. The vocals seem to wide imo and a little muddy, they could use a bit more high end. The snare kick clap are very basic imo, very dry as well. I feel like you could replace those drums with someone better and harder. I love your 808 work. The trance plucks are nice addition. The melodic arrangement itself is actually nice and calming, but seems a little contradicting to your vocals lol. That second drop is illmatic. I'm feeling that gutter vibe. I feel like there could be more sounds. That break down with the water droplet synths are amazing. it put me in a state of trance. Overall I feel like there could be a decent amount of work and effort put into it as this track as mad potential to be awesome!

Loving the vinyl noise effect on your track. The jazz type chords are stellar. Very calming and groovy. I can picture myself cruising around uptown on a summer night listening to this. Your drums are dope man. Im feeling the punch, the low end and overall dynamic of it. They are nice and clean, I would maybe add a tad reverb on the snare to give it more atmosphere, they sound sort of dry imo. Nice use of samples. The drop is pretty decent man. I would add a splash on the drop to get things going a bit more. The basses are pretty decent, Im feeling that reese well. I also enjoy your oriental esque lead that comes after first drop. I would try to add more background sounds and swooshes to make your track more alive. Those perky plucks are amazing.

Holy wow on the second drop. Thats a heavier bounce to it. I feel like it could use more groove and rhythm to it imo. Overall that drop clean and heavy. The use of silence before the next progression was amazing. The overall scheme and textures of the sounds are really unique and interesting. I am feeling this. It has a dope, clean production

This track is mad dude. So heavy and clean. I think the drop synths are a little overpowering. They sound too loud. The use of stereo field is intense though. Im so feeling this track. it sounds professionoal to me. Maybe turn up that phat sub because it seems theres far more high end in the track than low end and you particularly want more low end for these tracks. Man you need to tell me how you made that second drop with the weird vocal synth chops. Such a beast track. I will be looking forward to your release!

The second drop is thick too. You have a really nice thick sound which I love. I wish I can do that more. Your vocals are too loud in that second track at the intro. Even the basses are a db or 2 too loud imo. They are startling, both in a great way but in a unbalanced way. This track is intense man, you've got talent and taste. This track has an amazing atmosphere. I personally think the basses and synths on the drop are too loud, they will pop someones ear drums in a live set imo lol. I was kind of hoping for a second variation for the drop instead of it going around once more but thats my opinion. Overall a dope track man, I could imagine this on big fish recordings

Third track is a monster dude. I wouldnt change a thing except the vocals and drop synths once again, they are both too loud by a db or two imo man. This track is fucking sick though. I love your growl and bass work, so slimy and filthy. Such a wonderful character to it. Keep these tracks up man. I will be following you!

New April 4: I think the little whoop whoop sounds stick a bit out above the rest of the bassline in the drop, so maybe turn those down a tad, but holy shit, this is fucking huge man! not much I can say here [: I say the same to you, I would love to know how you made some of these sounds, we should so collab haha!

New March 31: You definitely have your own sound, and the transitions from reese growls to soft synths is really good! This is some professional level shit! Sound a lot like Pegboard nerds, meets MUST DIE! [: Love it!

mass aphekt - I know what you;re going for..some of the synths are too loud.. the vocal doesn't blend into the song..it just gets lost behind everything else.. decent sounds though! and track too!
mthrfnk - liking the crazy direction! lots of genres going on! I'm loving it mate! if you ever wanna collab on something more upbeat..lemme know..

@Gurnumsbug - Everything seems to harmonize nicely, although to me it seems highly repetitive and a bit empty.

@Ascian - I really like this track, something new compared to what I usually listen to. I would probably buy this if it were released somewhere. The sample or whatever it is in the background from 1-2 mins gets old fast though.

@Alexandercunningham - I like the track itself but the vocals bother me, they just seem tacky. Nice drums.

@Malex "Odin" - Not bad overall but the synths in the drop get a bit obnoxious at times. Clean enough mix overall.

@ F8Fabe: Not my kinda vibe but the mix sounds clean enough, although the drop midrange could maybe cleaned up a little and have another layer of highend on perhaps. Drums sound okay, but the hihats are a bit too loud imo.
@GregoryTJ: Like the drums in this particularly the snare, the bass is nice and at a good level imo. I think you should progress this further, adding a proper intro - definitely worth expanding it. Only thing I dislike is the weird shaker thing in the background.
@Gurnumsbug: Nice intro, the arp sounds good with the pad. The bass that comes in is nice too but I feel there could be another layer between the pad and the sub bass. The track progresses quite slowly imo, adding other elements such as percussion and varying the arp would help I think. The sweeps you have going on are good too. The breakdown adds some needed variation but again I think you could introduce another new element. The kick needs work against the sub imo - needs to be more punchy.
@MassAphekt: Looks like you took these down, I did listen the other day to both tracks, I remember liking them both hah.
@Malex: Solid production on all the tracks, although I feel at times some of your synth work (especially the high end stuff) becomes too abrasive, idk whether its the individual processing or the way you've pushed the master. In Bitch I Drop Bombs the dissonant synths imo become a bit distracting at times, but nothing major. I think I like Odin the best (although this is the track where the synths sound the most abrasive) - I like the underlying melodies and the reggae vibe you've got going on. Hemlok is impressive too because of the vocals, trap isn't my favourite genre but you've done this well. Btw what happened to all the electro/house stuff you had up as Malex? I liked that heh.

@Ascian drop composition and sounds are really good. I really liked that synth lead at 1:24. Drop at 2:01 is really well done. Don't really know what else to say it's very nice.

@Annex The drums are good and the build up is nice, snare is really well made. The drop is not really my taste, was expecting something else but the production is very nice throughout.

Spectrafunk- Think this has popped up on my sc feed at one point, sounds familiar. Everythings sounding tight in the intro, melodies are nice, maybe for the commercial factor stick a vocal in or something. intro just feels a bit ploddy towards the end, maybe have the kicks do a bouild up or something just to stop it getting samey. Nice drop, not too much to say on it its pretty good, this track just needs some development.

F8Fabe- Intro sounds pretty good, like the 8bit bleeps in there, drums punching nicely too. not a lot i can say on it tbh, everythings pretty much on point mate!!! sounds fuckin big!!

Ascian- Interesting lead in the intro, reminds me of old kahn stuff i.e helter skelter, wow, this tune is nuts mate, i didnt expect any of what happened to happen but I liked it! Fabe - I like the intro to your track, And your bass is rowdy. butI would turn up a little bit, OR turn the incidental elements/ melodic elements down. Other than that I followed you on soundcloud. I am a definite fan of your style. PM me that finished version.


Cheeky - Been a while man, Your stuff is usually sick though. I like the intro a lot. These vibes are sick. To me the percussion feels crisp and on point but your snare feels too dry. This track is thick though. I like it. No real criticism short of the clap. Send it over when you're done man!

Spectrafunk - This is pretty sweet man, that synth is textured perfectly. This isn't normally something I'd listen to but it is really good. No real mix critique, The drop is high energy. It's reaaaaaally short but you know that. Great start it sounds like, though. Keep it up man.

Is it just me or has the bar gotten a little higher in the WIP section since I left? Good stuff everyone.

F8Fabe: haha this is dope man, i love the vocal samples and the drop is super clean. Def a style of dubstep I really like. Really well done. Are you planning on lengthening it? I do think a bit of melody at some point could add a lot, but otherwise sounding good man.

Kes-Es: I like the idea of this one, but it definitely needs some work in mixing. The pad ish sounds have great tones, they're just too quiet right now. If you could widen them up I think it would add a lot. The kick is also a bit too weak, sounds almost tinny to me. A really cool idea though, I think if you take care of the mixing parts this song will be dope!

hirszu: Great job with that atmosphere, and the sub has a really nice movement to it, very smoov.

Cheeky: Dope tune man! haha it's great to hear forum members making some serious old school tunes.
