so…The Jeff Mills article...
http://thump.vice.com/en_uk/words/the-m ... ptwitteruk
I thought it was interesting…
He hits on that issue I'm on about everyonce in awhile….
How does the scene mature out of being just a late night - hedonistic thing…
Sunday afternoon coffee shop social?
I'm not sure about the dance ending though...
- I dance even in my car…in my head - the subliminal dance…
moving to music is…most pleasurable
like the iPod raves - raving standing still but surrounded by a bunch of people.
Why do we have to get together for that?
I guess that's his point.
I hate to clutter my music with talk of people and being social…
but how are we to be social without standing around for hours...
- waiting for a natural conversation to just spontaneously be natural.
Music is a great excuse to be in a place.
Until shopping for Artisinal Black Bean Hummus is better than dope…
and kids in bear eared knit hats.

i thought it was a great article!
very informative and touched on several important aspects about the future of electronic DANCE music. which the more kids at shows who "make beats" or "produce" or "dj" or are there for basically any other reason than to dance, are missing the most fundamental aspect of electronic music and basically every possible rhythm, beat or grove. but in this day and age every drug taking laptop with a sideways hat is a trap dj, and snorting coke, dancing, and trap music don't mix.

It's not that I have a problem per say...
with running around with a bunch of people in bear hats….
But I'm still expected to have a career.
The "professional" bear hat brigade is still far and few in between here - in standard america.
Even more so now - 15 years ago it was more prevalent…
Now we have "glow" parties.
NOW we do - That other stuff was just junkies living squat in a rented garage.

I think I'm having a personal problem.
I think it has to do with being held underwater for a long time….
and not being willing to embrace the fucker that held me there.
I can't see anything.
but yeah - Jeff Mills….and space. islands.
independent wealth.
sucking dick.
