I used to make a killing on old AFX/Aphex and VSnares plates from local shops that had like5+ copies of "rare" releases due to being mainly shopped by punk/metalheads, and on the flip I made a killing on "rare" punk/metal 7/10"s that same shop overstocked. Discogs is a goldmine like ebay if you can get the right stock and price below competition with fair shipping.

Plural of Vinyl is Vinyl. Like Sheep, or Lego.

Re: Do any ninjas make decent money buying/selling vinyls?
thanks
will take into consideration.
i think ppl who grew up in the vinyl culture, parents showed them a record player when they were 8, bought them their first vinyl, don't really understand what it's like to not have grown up like that. It's like with sports, or anything else. Did your parents get you on travel team when you were 11? No? Then you probably won't be very good at basketball

i don't think that's what weirded out people tbh dubunked...
i didn't "grew up in vinyl culture" either but my first thoughts when i started collecting vinyl records weren't "will i be able to sell these down the line and how much profit will i make?" (the amount of unsellable shitty jump-up dnb 12"s i own can vouch for that

Re: Do any ninjas make decent money buying/selling vinyls?
Think everybody has missed the point here tbf. His club got decks, so he's gonna buy vinyl presumably to play on them, as long as he can get most of his money back by selling them when he's done. If not, he probably won't, I presume.
Re: Do any ninjas make decent money buying/selling vinyls?
Lol that "vinyl culture" post
Wtf now i agree with phrex

Re: Do any ninjas make decent money buying/selling vinyls?
Buy a bunch of cheap post disco records
Theyre harder to mix that house & a shit ton harder than dubstep
Then youll know how to mix vinyl well & theyre usually under $5 a pop online

Re: Do any ninjas make decent money buying/selling vinyls?
OKAY DEFEAT ADMITTED SORRY
fuck
im poor. selling down the line wasn't my first thought. maybe in the first 10 though?
what garethom said. they would be literally (not figuratively) useless to me unless i bought turntables, which i may very well do. who knows. just wanted to gauge what the market is like for second-hand vinyls + get some advice + create some discussion. snh was pretty dead that day if iirc.
maybe i just like to get a rise out of the vinyl purists also. im sorry, i should really stop doing that.

Screw everyone saying stuff tbh. If you wanna start collecting records go for it. Some will go up in value. To be honest, most won't.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.
