How does one go about ripping vinyl? I have loads of stuff thats abit random and stuff like Mud VIP and want it on my laptop now that a mates picked up timecode to mess about with

Connect turntable to computer via sound card. Record via Audacity. Check levels, make sure needle is pristine, isolate deck if possible...mate had a rip of something he'd done where halfway through the recording had picked up a lorry driving past outside.

the whole time wondering how it's even possible that music like that can even be made.
one would imagine somewhere down the line an elbow would get nudged and an eyebrow raised.
the beat was this super slow unrhythmic pattern, with way too much open space, lots of dead air.
drake choking on his own unmemorable chorus, he sounded confused about even what he was singing about, like even the song he was making, he was writing, the sound of the way he spoke his own lyrics, gave me the impression that he did not understand what he was saying or why he was saying it. Lil Wayne clogging the verse with many dead echo's of rhyme schemes from yesteryear. I'm unmistaken though, the song makes no sense, exactly as you would expect it to. If any one has any information as to what this song is about, by all means, by any means necessary, let me know.

I don't know if anything can help those guys, I like the first Birdman album though.
and Nikki and I have the same birthday, her "monster" verse goes deep.

Dubstep has ruined me for other music.

for a year or more, I've been going to a variety of electronic and live gigs in the absence of dubstep in Sydney
(last decent gig was Coki in March and I couldn't make it)
something to dance to or at least be excited by...techno, noise, drone...something
for example, this last weekend,
locals before Even Tuell's house were playing bass-inflected dance music thru nice speakers
and Russian Circles made loud, melodic noise thru a really nice Marshall stack
but, apart from a bit of a sway and head nod
nothing

it's not the loudness or the crowd
or even the weight
it's the addiction to dub + step
