Bio's

Gantz [TUR] (Innamind / Deep Medi / System)

Every so often a producer comes through and changes the game a little; forging fresh sonic pathways within sounds and genres, exhibiting the ingenuity to deliver truly original and exciting material. Gantz is one of those rare breaths of fresh air, blessed with the inherent creative instinct to deviate from the same played-out formulas and boilerplates. His beats are pure sub-frequency driven rudeness, full of interesting syncopations, propulsive energy and glances of chilling melody. Meticulously assembling tracks from his lab in Istanbul, Gantz has reserved his releases for two of dubstep’s flagship labels; the mighty Innamind Recordings crew and the Black Box/ Box Clever family, with plenty more intriguing releases planned for the future. Now well established in the dubstep community and beyond, his dubs are dropped by some of the most heavyweight selectors including Mala, Distance and Vivek, and the demand to hear Gantz bring the heat in a live club environment grows day by day. As 2013 draws to its conclusion, he will have toured the U.S. and Canada with Innamind, and headlined gigs in Europe from London to Helsinki; if you are reaching a Gantz show, expect soundsystem punishing basslines, leftfield beats and the unexpected from a guy with a captivating talent.

Commodo [UK]

An artist with minimal online presence and who keeps himself to himself, Commodo is one of an increasingly rare few who make waves through the strength of their music alone. He builds bass-focussed beats with soul and substance that never perpetuate a formula, distancing himself from contemporaries with ingenious sampling and sound design influenced by his long-time affinity with the vibrancy of hiphop. Regardless of whether it’s the tough, dread-pressurised bassweight of his dancefloor-leaning productions or the tonally rich and immersive qualities of his more cerebral work, his scrupulous studio techniques are evidenced by the resounding freshness and longevity of his tracks both new and old. His inherently unique and accomplished production style earned him recognition right from the outset of his ascendancy and garnered early attention from a host of key figures within the dubstep community; finding a natural home for his music at the bastion of low frequency excellence, Deep Medi Musik.

Having already accumulated a gem-laden discography, there is undoubtedly much more to come from Commodo. The accolades keep rolling in; he has twice had music featured on the seminal mix series ‘Dubstep Allstars’, twice won ‘Best Remix’ at Dubstepforum’s 2013 Awards with his interpretation of the Medi classic ‘Miracles’, received worldwide radio play and bookings across Europe and the U.S. and, closer to home, has duppied dancefloors at DMZ, Subdub/Exodus, FWD>> and System. It’s shaping up to be an exciting future for a guy who will continue to challenge himself musically, explore new BPMs and aesthetics, innovate and cement his reputation as one of the UK underground’s best-regarded producers.
Some say dubstep had started declining in quality in 2009, but back then Commodo was only just getting started and now he's pushing forward, making sure 140bpm music still has a strong, distinct identity. Alongside Kahn, VIVEK, Gantz, LAS and Mikael to name a few, Commodo is pioneering into 2014.

Dubbacle [NL]

Dubbacle is truly a force to be reckoned with, he has been steadily climbing the bass ranks with his unique deep and melodic style. First appearing on Dubtrash with later releases on BassBias Records and MWM. Furthering his name in the scene he has seen support from some true heavyweights such as BunZero and Joe Nice. In a very short time Dubbacle has shown that he can switch his styles up without losing his signature sound, 2013 has been a big year - 2014 looks to be even bigger.

LAS & Mikael [FIN]

Once again we are happy to invite two guys from our neighboring country Finland: LAS and Mikael. Associated with the very fine Innamind Recordings imprint, these two producers are already causing quite the stir in the scene. Ask many of the scenes latest stars, such as the above mentioned Gantz or Commodo, and they will most likely drop LAS as one of their main inspirations.
