Densa-Quiet storm-wip (deep dubstep)
Hey dudes, got another new one I got stuck into this weekend. Keen to hear what you think. Feel like I'm finally starting to find my own vibe.

Re: Densa-Quiet storm-wip (deep dubstep)
quite phaellehish
the hh/shaker is too loud imo, and the scratchy ride is annoying/takes all my attention. The kick is also a bit prominant/repetative. Structure could do with lots of edits, mini pauses and percussion edits (try almost randomly editing velocity on the midi). Snare is great (usually the hardest thing to get right too
)
The stab and the vocals are really good - i would make more out of the stabs and less with the vocals (almost making the vocals 'special'.)
Lots of edits and automation (eq automation is an easy way to add movement - movement is what makes music interesting) and you could have yourself a really nice tune man, pm me if you want me to check out an update, curious how it will turn out.

Thanks for the honest feedback. You've pretty much summed up what I feel about this tune too. I've been too lazy with the beat and it definitely needs some automation. This was mixed in headphones which I think is why the percs came out a bit loud. Hmmmmm I may book some time in a treated studio and really go to town on the editing and mix down. This is the first tune I've produced that feels like it needs a good amount of time spent on getting everything perfect. Thanks dude and yeah I'll pm a copy of the finished product once it's doneLye Form wrote:quite phaellehish![]()
