Re: Flying Lotus - Redbull Lecture / RBMA Lectures Discussio
i got this email back from the RBMA
"Thank you very much for your interest in the Red Bull Music Academy and your question. Due to concerns by FlyLo's management, we had to remove this video from our website and youtube / vimeo channels. We hope to have it back on our site sometime, but can't promise anything at this point. "
kind of a bummer

The Theo Parrish one is pure knowledge and should be mandatory viewing for anyone remotely interested in music.

Pearson Sound lecture here:

Really interesting lecture/discussion. Looks like David was a bit nervous - sweaty pits at the end!

I'm looking now, I'll post if I find anything. This is something I'm VERY interested in, I'm really curious as to what exactly he says about his process because he's notorious for keeping his secrets a secret.
Re: Flying Lotus - Redbull Lecture / RBMA Lectures Discussio
I'm a huge fan of these lectures, always thought it was weird that flylo hasn't done one, it makes sense now that he did it way back and it got taken down.
Lol at the Madlib one, he was hella faded I bet! That monk Hughes tune he plays though is probably my favourite tune by Yesterday's Universe.
the DOOM, make and shanti I ones are amazing.
Hopefully soon they decide to put it back up!!

I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

Yeah, I've been diggin' for it with no luck. I peeped the madlib one though, and it is pretty dope. I always get a little bummed out when they don't get into the technical side of things though.

Re: Flying Lotus - Redbull Lecture / RBMA Lectures Discussio
I heard, on here, that it was taken down because of his openness regarding DMT usage.
Was hoping someone knew of a leak, or had grabbed it off of vimeo before the down-taking.

Yeah man, I've been looking for awhile and I think the audio clips are going to be as good as it gets.
Re: Flying Lotus - Redbull Lecture / RBMA Lectures Discussio
Isn't it amazing in this day and age when information isn't available? It's like wtf is this shit? I can't instantly know something? GHETOUTTAHERE!

Iirc, I read that his lawyers suggested this. [and if you'll allow me to specvulate] This may have been because of unrelated drug posession/usage offences/charges.
But yeah, the fact that I cant find something on the internet today astounds me

Re: Flying Lotus - Redbull Lecture / RBMA Lectures Discussio
Of course it has to be one of the most technically astounding hip hop producers who gets his vid removed !!
Would love to hear more about his history though, and what it was like working at Stones Throw .
Flylo must have sent out a big fuck you to the lawyers when he put the DMT song on his album .
"I can take uuuuu, to a world where you can spread your wiings, and flyyyyy awaaaay!!"
