Fear makes you think you can live longer, cos as long as you steer clear from what you're afraid of you'll be fine

wierd how much fear is manufactured nowdays:
instead of man-eating animals we have extreme sports,
feudal lord's demands v believing politician's lies,
freezing to death for lack of clothing v living up to consumerist expectations
is our natural inclination to seek fear?

Makes you think about how powerful emotions are in human societies. Most actions, if not all, deal with human emotions.

Thats more for the more developed parts of the world i'd say, where people are increasingly made aware of how they're running out of time. A tribesman would be much more likely to indulge in more emotionless action during the hours we spend on social networking, effectively playing with each other's emotions

Is shame really an emotion?
If it is, then is fear really an emotion? (I think it was mentioned as such earlier).
Tbh, I think fear is more of a sense. That being said, I'm still put off by the idea that shame is an emotion. Seems more like an object of fear.

shame and fear are both definitely emotions. its sometimes tough to think of them as as such because it feels like we are simplifying them as
only emotions, when they are part of so many things, physiologically too.

I think of emotions coming more from intuition, kind of like immediate cognitive responses to external stimuli, but shame and fear seem far more calculated than that; they both invoke emotion, but, imo, they aren't necessarily emotions themselves.

Who lived through this:
=======
And maybe more topically:
When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.
Even if it seems certain that you will lose, retaliate. Neither wisdom nor technique has a place in this. A real man does not think of victory or defeat. He plunges recklessly towards an irrational death. By doing this, you will awaken from your dreams.

If it was up to me, she would receive some Dutch milk.
