i guess the only reason is that big reverbs fart all over mixes and make them less punchy on club systems ?
Yea. That wasn't my exact guess, but I figured it was something more technical like that. The thing is though...I have reverb letting big 100% wet farts all over my music most of the time.
Short reverbs make it sound like its coming from a small space I.E a small club with a big soundsystem.

Not much to decipher from it really.

I really like the CC series so far and I think it's cool that they have such a clear vision of what they want it to be, but this just makes me worried that they're going to get boring after a while. I like how they had established producers doing these EPs because it was fun to see how they interpreted the Night Slugs aesthetic and what they could add to it as professionals, but I can't imagine that fun or personality being there in future releases now that they're making amateur submissions adhere to such tight rules (limiting notes and reverb sizes... really?). It will probably end up just being a bunch of people trying to copy previous CC producers and I don't know if I trust in Night Slugs having the self-awareness or energy to dig up the few producers who will actually put some creativity into it.

Regardless, I might try to make some tunes with these rules, if only as an exercise in self-control.

Perhaps I'm egotistical, but I can make the first cut in about 2 seconds. Just on texture. Probably could eliminate half the submissions right there. What is that expression, the cheese stands alone? Or something like that.
