I think its good to have a wide variety of styles of tunes to select from, especially as a DJ, its nice to be able to drop nasty tunes, bassline rollers, subtler more percussive tunes and just all out weirdness in a mix.

I'd check labels like Storming or Destructive, they put out massive tunes like that. Also Darqwan and company indeed!

Unless the scene splits and fragments like it has in drum and bass - that's probably inevitable eventually.

there are going to be camps in every kind of underground music. look at how grime splintered off. it's bound to happen. everyone wants a piece of the pie, but the pie is tiny. in 1996 there was jungle and jungle only. now it's easily a dozen different camps, all giving up certain flavors.

innit a bit of fragmentation is inevitable... and healthy. what matters is the dubstep vibes- seems like the majority of peeps into it are a decent sort. don't want it to get swamped with chiefs like dnb. peace love and unity? maybe in the early 90's. just about. smiling at randoms can be dangerous in some clubs. not about the screwface raving.
