Mix using headphones during the day with AC on full blast. When it cools down at night, mix on the monitors.

That's how I do it...

Lots of ice, lots of rum, lots fruit and fruit juice.

We have one air duct upstairs for a foyer and two bedrooms. The duct is in the foyer : ( Going to be sweating it out...also big up the hardware crew...each piece of hardware ads to the heat : ( : (

You can get portable AC units. I had one awhile back and it wasn't very loud at all. On low it kept my room really comfortable all the time. The noise was about the equivalent of a fan on a medium setting. But on their highest settings they can be a bit loud.

There are also evaporative cooling fans for those living in drier areas. I've had one of these as well. They are cheaper than portable AC units but they use water to cool an area which can introduce a lot of humidity. If you live in a dry area though you can fix that issue by just opening a window and creating some cross ventilation. It worked quite well. Not as well as actual Air Conditioning but more than adaquate when you're roasting in a room.

Analog synths in the winter to keep me warm, fm synths in the summer to keep me nice and cool...

My studio gets soo hot when all the gear is turned on. My AC is stupidly loud though, so I try to cool it down before I go in and turn it off when I'm actually working.
