Some of those people don't care though. For some people, it's just a night out, not an amazing life experience, and those people tend to be stood in front of the same people these underground DJs are criticising. Nothing is gained from comparing the two groups, and really, they can both go about their business without affecting each other at all.

rather that the debates about people into music for the love of music vs. people in music for the money and for the disposable nature of 'edm'

When he leaves the venue, alley and path to his car must be completely secured, he really likes snow-peas and always has them in his rider.” That’s right, his meet and greets have to be done in specific lighting. Generally"pop" is designed to be as broad and inoffensive as possible, kinda filler as everyone has to put up with it (shit that's played in cafes/bars/shit clubs). As music becomes more specialised, experimental, creative, then its only geared towards a particular taste, also those people will be far more passionate about it and like minded. All underground means to me is if the music is scene/ community based.

You can be very successful being a 'specialist', and sometimes people cross over into popular culture, but the music has to be made as broad and inoffensive as possible (hence people 'sell out')
