Well it's probably the penicillin of the mind if you think about. Mental phenomena are well underrated compared to physical issues. The efficacy of this drug is maybe even higher than penicillin since it doesn't have much that can cause tolerance since it taps in to humans minds' so well.
If Thalidomide had caused a 10 point drop in IQ instead of physical defects, it probably would still be on the market today. That's how much people discount things they can't see or really feel, even though it still has a huge effect on life.

Yeah i suppose it's because of how difficult it is to objectively measure the action a drug has on a persons mental health, whereas you can measure exactly how effective penicillin or equivalent is.test recordings wrote:Well it's probably the penicillin of the mind if you think about. What, are you saying you can't get a tolerance to MDMA? I know first hand this isn't true.
I still think 'penicillin of the mind' is a large stretch, i would say that penicillin is largely responsible for where the human race is today. MDMA hasn't had anywhere near as drastic effect, i mean it might have cheered people up to some extent but in terms of species success you can still procreate when you are miserable, if you are dead you cannot.

If your interested in the pharmacology/chemistry read phikal and tikal. hes a sick dude. i only read a few bits of tikal because I wanted to know about certain tryptamines
Re: RIP Alexander Shulgin - Godfather of MDMA
md tolerance takes way longer than weed or booze to go down too. taking ~100mg 5htp after a night out helps slow the process tho
taters on that as we jack it
