true does he never let his live sets get recorded and rarely do radio to keep his dubs exclusive, or is he just a busy bre

Re: Mala sets
Most sets aren't recorded I guess, and he doesn't do radio. I guess he's pretty busy and commissioning a mix probably isn't cheap.RKM wrote:true does he never let his live sets get recorded and rarely do radio to keep his dubs exclusive, or is he just a busy bre

Re: Mala sets
yeah fair enough, probably doesn't need the exposure of an hour long guest mix on someone's rinse show hah

yeah thats the thing, it'll be more likely for someone to approach him to get promo for their site, rather than the other way round.RKM wrote:yeah fair enough, probably doesn't need the exposure of an hour long guest mix on someone's rinse show hah

There is a copy of Digital Mystikz b2b Loefah at Outlook 2013 floating around out there. Actually being at that line up is always a blast as you're just about the selection but on this one the mixing is fairly atrocious from Coki and mediocre from Loefah and overall it doesn't have any flow. Probably why it hasn't been widely circulated.RKM wrote:yeah fair enough, probably doesn't need the exposure of an hour long guest mix on someone's rinse show hah

yeah remember hearing that on youtube think it got taken down fairly quick, probably because it had first listens of stuff like spry sinisterleyenda303 wrote:There is a copy of Digital Mystikz b2b Loefah at Outlook 2013 floating around out there. Re: Mala sets
yeah thats the thing with it live, you dont notice cos of the atmosphere. actually the DMZ 3 man sets are terrible technically, shoddy mixing, too many wheels and no flow.RKM wrote:yeah remember hearing that on youtube think it got taken down fairly quick, probably because it had first listens of stuff like spry sinisterleyenda303 wrote:There is a copy of Digital Mystikz b2b Loefah at Outlook 2013 floating around out there. Re: Mala sets
"technical mixing" is for 200hz snare drum dnb stnuc. in Zion, nobody can be arsed to mix tight.

Re: Mala sets
it's not something i'm that hung up on, but i have to say i love coki and he wasn't very good at all when i saw him on his own, started with tons of bangers but no flow and just tons of drops then the last half hour was just forgettable intense tunes
and if we're gonna be picky they been playing these tunes the best part of a decade together

Re: Mala sets
yeah but cokis selection isn't for me either. when you suck at mixing at least deliver a killer selection.

Re: Mala sets
That's what Chef is for. To play new Coki dubs together mixed for maximum effect

Re: Mala sets
Yeah Chef is the guy if you wanna hear good mixing and Coki-like tunes.
Nobody surely goes to DMZ b2b2b expecting good mixing lol, its mostly nostalgia. Mala mixes well, plays his own tunes and Deep Medi.. Coki brings in his tunes, wheels out the other, wheels after the drop, Loefah plays his old tunes and The Bug and a few others.

Re: Mala sets
Do they record many sets then? Why would you want to keep them as private property.. what are they going to use it for?
Unless maybe someone complained.. Mala probs. #secretive
Within his right to I suppose, may not have played certain tunes if he knew it was gunna be recorded and publicly distributed.
