Mate just served rare chicken at his bbq. Fairly sure I took a chunk of raw chicken down before I noticed. Not impressed.

Had to kill a bird my cat injured today

Found my cat playing with it, it was hiding in a shoe while my cat poked at it. Shooed my cat away, carried the bird in the shoe outside. It was barely moving, but tried to crawl into the shoe when I try to tip it out to see how it was hurt. Was breathing really deeply/fastly, obviously panicked. So I filled the shoe with paper towel to make a nest like environment. Carried it up to my bathroom to put the shoe nest on the hot floor. Left it there for about 20 minutes while I called around to shelters, bird experts etc for advice. The guy on the other end said cats tend to crush the bird's ribcage, and it's beyond saving.

So I tried to carry it back outside. It had come to a little now, was looking around quickly like birds do. So as I'm carrying it down the stairs it musters the energy to fly out of the shoe and try to escape. Flies into other downstairs bathroom and tried to hide among some shoes again. Had to pick it up with gloved hands. So I walk outside. And try to suffocate it by pushing its chest in but it starts flailing so much. Now I can see its wing is broken too, which I know spells death or at least no life at all for a bird. Left it outside between some rocks again, as I'm googling ways to put it down humanely and ideally not messily on my phone. Of course I realize I'm probably prolonging its suffering by messing around rather than affirmatively killing it on the spot, but TBH I'm pretty uneasy about this shit, never did it before. Internet says stuff like feeding it food laced with sleeping pills, killing it with carbon monoxide or putting it in the freezer. Couldn't do any of those. I try to drop a rock on it, but it just hits the side of the planks its sitting by. From that, it seems to shit itself and it's even more panicked. So I take it out into more open ground to have space to drop a bigger rock on it to be sure I kill it quickly . Then it flies into some bushes. So I crawl into the push after it and eventually manage to grab it.

By now it seems completely without energy again. I put it down on the stone slabs in front of our house, grab a big slab and slam it down on it. Thankfully, it seems to have died without a doubt, but it looks grim. Brains and guts all over the ground. So I gather up the bird, put it in a plastic bag, dig a hole in the garden, put it in, mumble the norwegian version of "ashes to ashes" and bury it. Dumped a bucket of soapy water on the ground, picked a few bits of innards off the ground and buried them quickly.

i once tried shooting pigeons with my dads rifle and just couldnt hit one so got real pissed of n just stood under this tree full of them and shot upwards

one fell down all injured and shit and i stamped on it n it exploded
