And also I don't buy the "civilisation should be judged on how it treats its weaker members because from the dawn on time evolution and civilidsation has been about dog eat dog, survival of the fittest etc etc by default.

and spot on OGLemon.
ma8on's just being a dick, it's aimed at me because I said giving a homeless guy a couch doesn't mean they aren't homeless.

if you agree with dog eat dog/survival of the fittest then dont complain when an immigrant with a better skill set is more employable than you.

Of course I don't "agree" with it, it's just the nature of society and the way the world works. I'd favour a more democratic, egalitarian society but we know the world is governed by corrupt corporations and politics.

just because something is 'the way it goes' or is a natural occurrence does not make it ethically right

I know, as I say I hate society works. But the humble man, or the voice of the persecuted so to speak always gets drowned out by the more powerful.

the fact that immigration exists, and someone better qualified and harder working than you being more employable is just the nature of society, and the way the world works.

Often the only winners in the immigration thing is employees getting cheap labour, not the people who lived there originally as they get undercut on jobs and not the immigrants themselves who have to work for little money and get exploited. I don't think they really all have a better skill set-they don't speak the native tongue and if their skillset was so good their own countries industries and economies would be flourishing. Which they're not.
