I figured, but I was wondering when you would say something about it.
In about 7 months is the answer.

Guess it's time for something new.
I had sigs turned off.

I've seen Eraas live actually. They were supporting Wolf Eyes. They weren't very good. Wolf Eyes were fucking rad though.

The gear lust is kicking back in after a long hiatus.

I want a Microbrute and/or a Korg MS-20 mini.

What was the motivation for turning em on again?

Yeah Wolf Eyes have played quite a few gigs around here. Liked them live, haven't really gotten
to it at home though.

I am pretty sure it is impossible to be disappointed in the MIcroBrute...unless you already have a stupid number of analog mono synths sitting around collecting dust.

Well, a Yamaha CS-5 from the late '70's and a Novation BassStation Rack from the mid '90's but the MicroBrute just sounds fat and that step sequencer on it plus the cv modulation!! And the MS-20, I've always wanted an MS-20. I know Wolf has one of the original ones.

I've got musical talent lust, and unfortunately, I can't buy that from China.

And for history's sake, grunge is a shorthand there. Grunge was more the time, and maybe there was a little flannel involved, but it was... what it was. You know what I'm saying.

You know, in the Northwest we wore the flannels because it was cold and rainy and we could get them cheap at a thrift store. Some British journalist subsequently turned it into a fashion ting.

sooo, it looks like its okay to post hardware only jam sessions in here? if not ill happily remove it...

Here's my first recording with the AnalogRytm. The MachineDrum is doing a very simple and highly compressed beat to accent the AR. The dubstepish bass that comes in a few times is the modular controlled by the A4, as is the panning scraping pad type sound. A little bit of parrallel compression from an elysia xpressor and some EQ from a retro 2A3 EQ on the master buss. some space echo on a send as well. AR does the bulk of the track. plenty of space for MnM and OT parts too, just wanted to post this first test recording of what I have up on the mixer right now. I love the low end on this thing! not sure if Im gonna multi track any of it to do a more proper mix down and arrangement, kinda digging the raw and aggressive sound and just jamming out the arrangement. Only post processing is a limiter.

^Will listen when I can : )

We really need a hardware jam thread for videos and recordings.

“As synth geeks, we asked ourselves what our ultimate mono synth would be. Then we built it.” It’s the kind of marketing bluster which we hear day in, day out – and the kind of pronouncement you normally take with a pinch of salt if not dismissing it entirely. But when it comes from the man responsible for some of the best synths ever made, it’s impossible not to take notice. DSI’s newly announced Pro-2 looks seriously impressive.

Dave Smith, to his credit, has always been more interested in innovation than looking to the past. “Right now there’s a trend of reissuing classic synths from the past,” he explains. “People have been asking for a reissue of the old Sequential Pro-One for quite a while. But as a synth designer, I’m happiest creating new instruments—synths that with every iteration put more power and better sounds into the hands of musicians. The Pro 2 is light years beyond the Pro-One in every way. It’s the most powerful mono synth I’ve ever made. You’ve got to keep moving forward.”

The Pro-2 is based on the Prophet 12 synth architecture but makes a number of changes. That means you’ll get four oscillators and a sub-oscillator, dual filters with some clever routing options, a step sequencer, built-in delay, an arpeggiator, four LFOs, character controls and two pressure-sensitive touch sliders. We’ve seen a trend in recent years for affordable analogue monosynths – usually with relatively limited features sets as a result – but the Pro-2 is resolutely aimed at the other end of the market: this is a premium, money-no-object, flagship synth.

Watch Dave Smith’s intro video above or scroll down for the full spec and hi-res photos of this flagship synth in all its glory.

The Pro-2 will go on sale in late July, priced at $1,999. Expect that to translate to somewhere in the region of £1,400/€1,600 in Europe.

Ok. So the packed a ton of shit in there...but 2k for a monosynth??? Also I call bullshit on "the most powerful sequencer ever put inside a synth". Elektron FTW. Any thoughts wub? Or just fueling our lust?
