Henderson & Gerrard were both gak.

Everytime England got a bit of possesion the lack of movement off the ball or inventiveness from anyone was dire.

Reverted to type really.... they played with confidence against Italy, but didn't look like they "believed" for more than 20 minutes of the Uruguay match.

Sterling was immense against Italy... Rooney was more involved against Uruguay, but struggled to be truly effective in open play... was switching them round what fucked us? Despite the goal, I think I'd drop Rooney... the team just doesn't work based around him and he doesn't work if it's not based around him.

I can't think of a single English player capable of playing that no 10 role

Not right ofc now but if we stuck with him there: Wilshere?

Wouldn't be a popular choice but he's easily the most technically gifted + best passer in the team when in form. His fitness is always up in the air though and he doesn't really score enough to convince anyone for the no.10 but I could see him working in there

Weird for an Englishman but I wouldn't mind seeing Germany win it, or France

I'd quite like someone that's not won it before, Chile to do something mad and go all the way or the Dutch though v Persie and v Gaal's reason to prefer someone else

Barkley for the 10 spot next time maybe?

Not that I think he has the vision needed to become Riquelme or whatever but he could play a role like Ballack, Nedved, Mendieta or similar.

England were never going to progress very far as usual. Clueless Roy Hodgeson should of just fielded a proper young team, because the experienced players didnt produce. Shaw, Barkley from start, Stones, Lallana from the start. Sterling and Henderson were the only young starters. Fucking sack Gerrard off! Useless tnuc!

My mistake, but he should of been. Would of easily done better than Jagielka/Smalling/Jones.
