Looks like we'll have to settle for the odd Prelude of future greatness.

Sorry... felt it was my Civic duty.

Fell asleep watching the first half of the Uruguay v Italy game only to wake up and find out that Suarez bit someone. :o
I'm actually glad Italy are out. They've been so fucking boring to watch.

Uruguay have been pretty boring too, now even more so as I doubt Suarez will be playing anymore.

That's 100% a UK thing. Don't know a single Dutch guy who bets on sports, yet every Briton I meet talks about it all the time

Cote d'Ivoire has had enough bad luck and now Grease take their spot through a very debatable
penanty.

Where do we go from here? Me not knowing anyone who ever bets on sports is some kind of proof
of it not being 'very common' here.

Maybe if I knew your location, I would get something out of that post, but it's still lacking.

Unlike online casinos, the Netherlands has its own online sportsbook: toto. The site is run by monopoly operator De Lotto, and is the only legal betting site in the Netherlands as of 2013, with a blanket ban on foreign based websites.

This is due to change, however, when new laws come into affect on 1st January 2015, licensing all forms of online gambling for the first time. As such, Dutch bettors will have a choice for the first time ever, increasing competition in a market that was stagnating.
Online Sportsbooks in Netherlands
That might have something to do with it.

It makes sence to always assume something might be set in place tbh. Because gambling/betting is such a common thing in society.

We have the same principle over here in denmark but it just means people bet on mostly the same allowed sites.
