yeah i fucking hate driving, prefer to cycle or bus anywhere i'm going, central london driving makes me rage, it's a 20mph limit for ages around here

Yeah im a strong believer in the fact that not everyone should be driving.

I think its the people with a lack of confidence who are the worst, the ones who are always driving too slow and hesitating a lot at junctions and roundabouts etc

I'd take being in a car with a fast/slightly reckless driver who I know has the skill to look ahead and anticipate and has good car control over a slow/timid overly-cautious driver

but thats just me

I dont even mean like that, its just more some people, slow or not, just dont have the ability to think critically when driving, and like you said, anticipate. Some people dont know their roads and routes very well, how to use passing/speed lanes correctly, and other things that you cant teach in drivers ed really. As retarded as it sounds, in order to be a good driver, you have to have a certain respect about what youre actually doing. Like gene said, you're in a death trap on wheels and you have to treat driving that way.

I've been driving for almost ten years now (and am working on my motorcycle license now) and I've only ever been in two accidents, one being very minor rookie mistake, the other being 90% unavoidable, and even then wasnt too much more than a fender bender. I know too many people who write off cars every other year or two, because they only really understand how complex and dangerous driving really is. Anyone on this planet can drive a vehicle, but only certain people can really grasp everything thats going on around them while driving.

People texting and talking on their phones bugs the fuck out of me too. Those are the people who should lose their licenses!

I know people who have the same views and present the same examples, yet they're the ones sitting in the middle lane for 60 miles or pissing off everyone because they never use their blinkers in traffic circles.
