Interesting idea. I don't have a Mac but I'm sure something similar can be achieved with something like MIDI Designer.

That is a pretty interesting utility. I'm all VA now, but I could see playing poly out of Mono VA producing interesting results.
Alas, it will remain one vein of an intricate network of channels not pursued.

Re: Polymer Makes Multiple Synths Into One
Just the idea of chaining up a bunch of synths - hardware, software - into one superunified frankensynth - that''s like one of those big dumb obvious ideas that newbies get but lack skills to implement, and by the time they learn 'em, those big dumb obvious ideas don't even bubble to the surface most of the time because they're beholden to A Way To Do Things.
Like me.
I mean, hell, set up a master clock source, run yer thrus and make sure they're locked in tight without jitter or whatnot, then pipe the outs into a physical mixer...

Re: Polymer Makes Multiple Synths Into One
Yeah, I can do that in fl, or any daw, usually in a second or maybe a second and a half. But what I can't do is set up poly so each synth plays one note of a chord.

For the hardware heads...
This app looks neat though...there has to be way to sync a bunch of softsynths to the same MIDI channel inside one of the DAWs...maybe use that MIDI Out VST in FL Studio? But that doesn't let you play them polyphonically...just syncing them...I mean you could do it the long way around after you figured out your chord progressions.

Re: Polymer Makes Multiple Synths Into One
I don't wanna follow a link, why is reaper cool.
Re: Polymer Makes Multiple Synths Into One
Indication:
Say you have a cool monophonic-synth (like fxpansions free Orca) but you want to be able to play chords with it.
Solution: schedule the incoming polyphonic-midi-notes to individual reaper-tracks. Each such track is embedding an instance of the monophonic-synth.
Endless possibilities: Adjust each channel separate (sound, panning, etc...)
limitations:
in this version you have to manually change the sound-program of the vsti's track by track
Usage:
1. create a track for midi-input
2. insert an instance of the MIDI Chord Splitter Effect
3. Set the number of voices to use
4. for each voice create another track and insert a vsti of your choice
5. route the midi-output of the first track to each instrument track (1:n)
example:
Track1: Midi IN -> MIDI Chord Splitter (parameter Voices = 3)
Track2: VSTI Synth1a, Receive MIDI from Track1 to MIDI-Channel1
Track3: VSTI Synth1b, Receive MIDI from Track1 to MIDI-Channel2
Track4: VSTI Synth1c, Receive MIDI from Track1 to MIDI-Channel3
