happens around 0:55 how do you get that unique screeching sound?

If you mean that growl on exactly at 0.55, just go to the "official growl bass thread", valuable tips there. That actual screech on 0.56-0.57 sounds FM synthesis + comb filters with a lot of resonance to me. I get these screechy sounds by accident sometimes when i'm trying to create something totally different. It's actually pretty fucking annoying when you're making a growl for example: you route oscillator x to oscillator y, still sounds good, you increase mod amount by one point and you suddenly get a screech that hurts your ears.
